The second name, Kala-Kalaya, carries one of the deepest ideas in the Shaiva tradition. It points to the reality that even time, death, and dissolution are not ultimate. There is a power beyond them, and that power is Bhairava.

This name literally means "the Kala of Kala" - the one before whom even time must yield. It is a philosophical name, but it is also a practical reminder that the Divine cannot be reduced to the cycle of birth and death.
