Pranam, Gurudev.

Pranam, pranam.
Disciple:
Gurudev, given the current heat situation—they are saying the temperature is 42 degrees today, but it feels much higher than that. It is almost 6:00 PM now, but the heat remains intense.
Gurudev:
This isn't just "heat"; it's a heatwave. It shouldn't just be called heat anymore; it's an extreme heatwave. It starts at 7:00 AM and is just terrifying. Now, we may not understand science, as we are spiritual people, but we understand what Ramakrishna Dev once said: a time will come when "twelve suns" will rise. The earth will become so hot that it will be uninhabitable for humans. Ramakrishna Dev warned about this long ago—that twelve suns would rise and the heat would be so great that people would not be able to survive.
Gurudev:
You see, in Delhi, it's 35 degrees, but here it's 42. It was said during Indira Gandhi's time—she wanted to turn the desert green, but scientists warned her not to try, saying it would turn this region into a desert instead. Now we are seeing the reality of that. I don't think even the actual desert is this hot.
Gurudev:
We are very worried about this. We don't know how much more of this heat people can take in the coming days. So many people are dying—young children, people having heart attacks from the heat. A young man in our neighborhood, a lawyer, just died. He came home from the office, went to the bathroom, collapsed, and died. We are seeing so many cases like this.
Gurudev:
It has also been said that the human lifespan will not exceed 50 years. Looking at everything, we can see the deep impact of the Kali Yuga (the Dark Age). It began long ago, it is ongoing, and the "Kalki" has already been born. I don't know what will happen next. In my 75 years, I have never faced a situation like this.
Disciple:
They say a temperature like this was seen for one day back in 1960, but now it has been like this for an entire week.
Gurudev:
Exactly. It's been a week, and humans have reached their limit. The consequences of this heat will be far-reaching.
Disciple:
Yes, because the damage to our bodies is extensive.
Gurudev:
Exactly. Just like the long-term effects of COVID-19—we are still seeing the results of that. Many medicines no longer work on the human body. That was a long-term consequence, and this heat will have its own. Science can explain it better.
Gurudev:
In some places, they are using artificial rain. But the results of that are also deadly. Look at what happened in Dubai—you probably heard. I heard it happened in Bangladesh yesterday too. Artificial rain was triggered. But the results are dangerous. To go against nature is terrifying. Dubai and Abu Dhabi did it, and you saw the state they are in. Oman and Abu Dhabi are in a very bad way.
Gurudev:
Man thinks he is greater than nature. We think we control nature, rather than nature controlling us. We think nature will behave as we dictate. That is not possible. Man thinks he can surpass nature, but the results are appearing everywhere.
Gurudev:
It was said long ago that because of "El Niño," there would be no rain. They said in 2024, the earth would crack. Houses and buildings would crack. Because of El Niño, there would be no rain. I don't know if that is exactly what's happening, but the signs are there.
Disciple:
Another thing to notice, Gurudev, is that the timing of everything has changed. The timing of winter has changed, and the time when summer starts is different from what we used to expect.
Gurudev:
We used to have six seasons. Now we only know two. We had a good amount of cold this year, and now we are getting extreme heat. Whether there will be any rain is doubtful.
Disciple:
It seems India is moving from a temperate climate to an extreme one.
Gurudev:
This was warned during Indira Gandhi's time. Scientists told her not to do it, but she did, and today we are suffering the results.
Gurudev:
And Gurudev, especially in West Bengal, while we see 42 degrees, other places are also seeing extremes. The entire global equation is being disrupted. The food chain and the balance of microorganisms are being disturbed. The balance of the earth is being ruined.
Gurudev:
It is being done by man. I won't say nature is doing it; nature is being forced. Man is suffering the consequences of his own actions. Look at what happened in Europe recently—extreme temperatures. They didn't have artificial rain; they arranged for water and took multiple baths to cope. But if you use artificial rain, the result won't be good. Bangladesh did it, Abu Dhabi did it—you've seen the results on TV.
Disciple:
Another small thing, Gurudev—drinking water. It has become a system of packages and bottles. In India, many states are pleading for water. In Bangalore, the price of water is at an all-time high. In the middle of this, things like the IPL are going on, where a massive amount of water is being wasted. That water could have helped many people.
Gurudev:
Look, the government is trying. They are laying pipes in various places and monitoring water. They might limit it to 30 or 35 liters per person. Whether you use it for the toilet or for bathing, that's all you get. If you want more, you'll have to pay for it like electricity. Pay more, get more water. This is already starting to be implemented. If they install meters, a person won't get more than 30-35 liters. There will be a limit. But you still have to wash clothes and dishes—you need water for that. This will be a major issue in the future.
Disciple:
Gurudev, there's another side to this. Because of the water crisis, families who lived as nuclear units might start living together again, just so they can pool their water allowance.
Gurudev:
Everyone will try to get more water. But what can the government do? They will set a limit. You can use as much as you want, but you'll have to pay, just like the electricity bill. This is starting, and it won't distinguish between the rich and the poor. Whoever pays will get water. A time of great water scarcity is beginning. Even in West Bengal, despite having many rivers and being near the sea, we will face this. Within a few months, the Ganges might dry up. Many oceans have already shrunk. They say the Ganges will dry up too. If that happens, it will be an irreparable loss for people.
Disciple:
The green part of West Bengal on the map might disappear and turn into a desert.
Gurudev:
That's what I feel. And whatever trees are left will eventually be cut down to build high-rises. People won't live on Earth for much longer. The Earth is returning to its original molten state. How much can artificial rain do? You have to take the water from somewhere to make rain. It doesn't come from outside the planet.
Disciple:
Gurudev, you also had a health scare recently because of the heat.
Gurudev:
Yes, everyone is suffering. People can't work. Even the young men can't work. I tell them to take an hour's rest and then continue. The heat is just too much. I was so unwell the other night. I had a fever, my throat was parched, I couldn't even swallow water. I'm a bit better now, but how long can this go on? People are in such a state that they are saying, "Just kill us." I say, "Who am I to kill or save you? You will live according to nature." Everyone thinks it's a joke, like they can just buy life with money. It's not a joke.
Disciple:
If Gurudev stays healthy, he can help many more people. That is why we have announced that for the next week, Gurudev will not be seeing visitors. The heat is too much for people to travel here, and Gurudev needs to recover. We will announce a date once the heat subsides.
Gurudev:
I can't even perform the Homa (fire ritual). How can I do a Homa in this heat? I can't sit near the fire. And so many people—30, 40, 50 people—gather for it. I told them today, "Can you sit here in this heat?" One heat is from the sun, and another is from the fire. Whoever performs it will get sick. That is why I am saying, for now, stay quiet. So many people are in trouble, calling me, telling me their problems. But what can we do? We are also struggling. At my age, I feel it would be better to stay in the cold, but you have to go out eventually.
Gurudev:
The other day, the heat was so intense it made me sick. I spent the whole night restless, with a fever and a sore throat. I'm better today, but we can't continue like this every day. And people are in such a state that I have to see them. They say, "Save us," but I am no one. Nature will decide.
