Speaker:
After paying respects to Gurudev, I would like to make an important announcement for our audience. I have previously informed you that Gurudev recently returned from a nursing home. We shared one or two episodes because many of you were calling, messaging, or commenting to ask if Gurudev was healthy and doing well. You felt that seeing him would provide reassurance. People from near and far expressed this wish. Consequently, we posted a couple of videos, including a recent one with his greetings for Sharodiya Vijaya.
Speaker:
However, Gurudev has fallen very ill again. He has a severe cough and a slight fever. I cannot say for certain if there is an infection at this moment; we have scheduled a doctor's appointment, and we will see what the outcome is. I have a sincere and heartfelt request for everyone: please do not visit Gurudev at this time. Many are coming to offer their respects for Vijaya Dashami or just to catch a glimpse, regardless of the reason. I am asking everyone—those far and near, regardless of how you are traveling—it is best not to visit him now.
Speaker:
For a person who has dedicated his entire life to others, surely we can make this small sacrifice for his recovery. My sincere request to everyone from this moment onwards is this: we will post another video to inform you once he is healthy, and then you may come and see him from a distance. But please, do not come now. Many people arrive saying they have traveled a long way and ask for just a moment; please do not put us in that position. It would make us feel very bad, but we will be forced to tell you that you cannot meet him.
Speaker:
Gurudev is here in front of you, and I am saying this in his presence. I would now ask Gurudev to say a few words to his disciples and devotees.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
What has been said is correct; you are all taking care of me. I am ill and constantly worried that I might have to return to the hospital. Therefore, I am saying that what he said is right. Everyone, please listen carefully: in this current state, please do not come suddenly, whether from near or far. Please do not come because I will not be able to meet you. I am asking you not to come now; we will inform you when it is an appropriate time to visit. You can come then, there is no problem. But right now, when people come, what happens is...
Speaker:
Infection... yes. Actually, we do not know what we are carrying in our own bodies—what bacteria or viruses we might have. You have seen Gurudev; he has aged, and there is very little physical strength left in him. Having spent his life in meditation and often fasting, he has naturally become very weak and ill. Consequently, we want to keep him under strict restrictions. The doctor used a specific expression, saying we should keep him "like cotton"—meaning very gently and carefully.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Yes.
Speaker:
Anyway, that is the situation. I truly make this heartfelt request: please, please do not come at this time. Many might show up, and some faces might be familiar to Gurudev's son, Bumunda. You might make a request that he finds difficult to refuse. We do not want such an awkward situation to occur, where someone familiar is let in while others are not. Please keep this in mind. It is truly necessary to keep Gurudev completely separate right now. If another infection occurs or if respiratory distress returns, we would be deeply alarmed.
Speaker:
I have said what needed to be said, and I hope you will listen. May everyone stay healthy and well. My respects to you, Gurudev.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Yes, respects.
