Host: Namo Shri Shri Guptasadhak Shyamakhapaye Namo. Greetings. Paying my respects to Gurudev Guptasadhak Shri Shri Shyamakhapa, we begin our program from Shantikunj. Let us all listen to the invaluable words of Gurudev together.
Disciple: Pranam, Gurudev.
Gurudev: Pranam, pranam.
Disciple: Today, a terrible incident has occurred. The flag of the Puri temple flew away. You mentioned when the Coronavirus first arrived that "this is just the teasel gourd (kakrol), the jackfruit (kathal) is yet to come." Along with this, we are hearing a special announcement from the Meteorological Department that a storm named Amphan is heading towards our state. Is this what you meant? Is the "jackfruit" arriving?
Gurudev: No, no, no. This storm is a natural occurrence. Storms and rain are common at this time of year; we call them Kalbaishakhi. I don't give it much importance, though it may cause destruction. No one can certain where it will strike or what its path will be. However, the news I received today around 4:30 PM—that the Puri temple flag has flown away again—is what concerns me. What can I say?
Gurudev: Repeated blows to the flag of Puri mean blows to the head of Basudeb Jagannath. There is a sacred instrument (yantra) there, and the Lord's head is being struck repeatedly. I do not know if there is a fault on the part of those who hoist the flag, but if not, it must be understood that the Lord no longer wishes to remain on this Earth. Perhaps He will depart. As I have said before, there are two horses facing West, and they are ready. When they move, the apocalypse (pralay) is imminent.
Gurudev: Is this the indication? It's not just once or twice. First, the flag caught fire and fell. Then, a vulture sat on the pinnacle—something we have never heard of happening at the Jagannath temple. And today, the flag fell again. Do you know the significance of the flag? When kings went to the battlefield, they flew their flags. If the flag falls, it signifies a great loss and defeat for the king.
Gurudev: Now, a deep fear has arisen in me. Is the "jackfruit" arriving? Furthermore, a few days ago, a fire broke out at the Pashupatinath temple in Nepal. This was kept quiet so that people wouldn't panic, but I saw the horrific smoke. I have contacts in various places who sent me photos. Then, the eternal lamp at the Kalighat temple fell. There was also a fire at the Tarapith temple. What are these signs indicating? I don't see any good omens. It makes me wonder if the apocalypse is truly near.
Gurudev: The falling of the Puri flag is a very bad sign. We work at the pinnacle, near the head of the Lord, and that area is being repeatedly struck. It is a place of supreme devotion. A vulture is a bird that eats meat and fish; when it sits on the flag, the flag becomes impure. That is why vultures or eagles never sit on the pinnacle of the Jagannath temple. But now, we are seeing it happen. The consequences will be terrifying.
Disciple: Friends, we just heard about the flag of the Puri temple. Gurudev is praying to the Lord; let us all join him in prayer.
Gurudev: There is no other way left to seek liberation from this terrible situation.
Disciple: Pranam, Gurudev.

Spiritual Insight

Guru Shyama Khyapa delivers a grave warning about the repeated falling of the Puri Jagannath temple flag, interpreting it as a sign that the Lord may be preparing to depart from Earth. Along with other disturbing omens—fires at Pashupatinath and Tarapith temples, the falling of Kalighat's eternal lamp, and a vulture sitting on the temple pinnacle—these events collectively point toward the approaching pralay. The message calls for prayer and spiritual preparation as these signs indicate profound changes ahead.
