Pagla Baba: Namaskar. First, I offer my pranams (bows) at the feet of the Mother. Here, where we are standing at the Mother's feet, I offer my salutations. I also offer my pranams to Gurudev.
Pagla Baba: Today, I, Pagla Baba, have been walking the path to Kamakhya for almost a month now. On this journey, we are currently in Raiganj, Devinagar, Maharaj Colony. We are at a wonderful and supernatural temple of the Mother.
Pagla Baba: As you can see, there is no idol of the Mother here; there is only a pedestal (bedi). Here, the Mother is worshipped in the form of Dakshina Kali. This is the only place in the entire Raiganj area—a sacred site of spiritual attainment (Siddha Peeth)—where the Mother's idol is constructed, worshipped, and then immersed all in a single night.
Pagla Baba: We have the revered priest (Thakur Mosai) with us today. His family has been dedicated to the service of the Mother for generations. I offer my pranams to him.
Pagla Baba: One unique thing to note is that there is no roof over this temple; it is open to the sky. Priest, I would like to hear a brief history of this place from you for the benefit of the devotees.
Priest: Before this temple was established, a local Zamindar (landowner) was traveling through this area when his carriage suddenly broke down and became immovable. He stayed here for the night. During his sleep, the Mother appeared to him in a dream and said, "Establish me here and worship me."
Priest: Following her command, the tradition began: the idol is created at night, worshipped during the night, and immersed before the night ends. That same tradition continues to this day. Devotees come from far and wide, and their wishes are fulfilled here. The main annual puja takes place on the night of Deepanwita Amavasya (Diwali).
Pagla Baba: Namaskar, Priest. Thank you.
Pagla Baba: We just heard about the Mother's glory from the priest. As he explained, after the Zamindar's carriage stopped and he received the divine command in a dream, this temple was established. Throughout the year, the Mother is worshipped at this pedestal. Many miracles are witnessed here, and the Mother fulfills the heart's desires of her devotees. If anyone ever visits Raiganj, I urge you to visit this temple of Dakshina Kali in Devinagar, Maharaj Colony.
Pagla Baba: This is the history of the Mother's temple. I, Pagla Baba, send my love and blessings to all devotees. Tomorrow, we will resume our journey on foot along National Highway 34 (NH34) towards Pundibari. If any devotees are along that route and wish to meet, we shall see you there.
Pagla Baba: Jai Gurudev. Jai Ma.
Pagla Baba: (speaking to someone off-camera) I kept this space empty for you, won't you sit? People call me Pagla (Crazy). Pagla, won't you sit? Are you leaving? I kept this spot for you, Mother.
Devotee/Assistant: Oh, I see. I am here at the Mother's temple.
Pagla Baba: My Upanayana (sacred thread ceremony) happened before I turned 12.
Devotee/Assistant: That is very young.
Pagla Baba: Yes, it was at a very young age. Right after that, at the age of 12—just three months before I turned 13—my father initiated me (Diksha). When my Gurudev was about to initiate me, I asked him a question…
