Devotee:
Greetings, Gurudev. Greetings. Doctor Babu, greetings. Today, we have you here with Gurudev. Gurudev himself mentioned that he wanted to know more about the Delta Plus variant and inform the public about it. From this temple, we consistently strive to keep people alert. To provide the necessary information, we often bring various doctors here to sit with Gurudev and offer their advice. Now, Gurudev, please proceed with your questions. You previously predicted that Delta Plus wouldn't have a significant impact on India. Please ask the doctor what the current situation is.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Yes, I have said before that Delta Plus won't have a huge effect on India. This was based on our spiritual calculations. However, the perspective of a doctor is different—it is scientific. I noticed in the newspapers and magazines as well that they are saying Delta Plus might not have a massive impact. But the concern is that this virus is like an Asura (demon); it changes its form frequently. That is what is frightening. I have spoken from a spiritual standpoint, but I want to hear the scientific side. Doctor Babu is a leading practitioner; many people come to him and benefit from his treatment. So, my question to him is: how much damage can Delta Plus actually do to India?
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
I completely agree with you. The impact of Delta Plus in India might not be as severe as what we witnessed during the second wave. We often describe this COVID virus as being like Maricha (a shapeshifting demon); it constantly changes its form. Just as you compared it to an Asura, it fits perfectly. This is a disease we are seeing for the first time in our practice. We are seeing variants like Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and subsequently, Kappa and Lambda. The variant we are currently concerned about is the Delta variant, and it is quite dangerous.
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
Why do we call it dangerous? Because it is highly contagious. In the second wave, we saw a certain level of contagiousness, but if the Delta variant attacks one person, it has the potential to bring an entire region under its grip. This is what worries us.
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
There are a few reasons why we think it might not have a massive impact overall. One is that our vaccination drive is moving at a very fast pace. The more people get vaccinated, the better we can resist Delta Plus or future variants like Kappa or Lambda. However, people often make a mistake: once they are vaccinated, they stop wearing masks and start roaming around freely, eating at stalls and restaurants. They think they won't get COVID. That is a completely wrong conception. We never said that vaccination prevents the disease entirely. You can still get the disease after vaccination, but it will likely prevent it from becoming fatal. It will still cause some damage to your body, but it will save you from the brink of death.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
What I have heard about the third phase is that it is eight times more powerful.
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
Absolutely. It is much more contagious. If we are properly vaccinated, we can restrain it to some extent. But no one can guarantee that the variant won't attack, as it is an airborne disease. As vaccination rates increase in India, we will try to stop these variants.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
I have heard that if the third wave hits, it might cause certain organs to become inactive. It could affect the kidneys, lungs, or the heart. Is it that contagious?
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
It is extremely contagious. It is at least four to five times more contagious than the variants in the previous two waves. Earlier, one person might infect three or four others; now, it can affect an entire neighborhood. That is why in places like Mumbai, where Delta was seen, whole areas were isolated. The administration needs to be very alert.
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
We shouldn't be complacent. We often look at foreign countries where people are walking without masks after two doses. But remember, the population of a country like the US is about 33 crore, whereas ours is 130 crore. There, if people stand in a line, they are six feet apart. In our country, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder in markets and on buses. If Delta hits us, it will cause massive damage.
Devotee:
Doctor, what you are describing is a lack of awareness. We aren't alert, which is why we are on top of each other.
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
I wouldn't just say it's a lack of awareness; sometimes it's impossible to maintain. If I need 100 buses but only 5 are running, how can I tell people to be alert? People have to travel for their livelihoods. They are forced to crowd.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
What are the symptoms, Doctor?
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
The symptoms are mostly the same: cold, cough, sore throat, fever, and eventually respiratory distress. It just spreads much faster.
Devotee:
Gurudev, you and other spiritual seekers are trying to stop this through spiritual power. Doctor Babu gave his medical opinion. I hope you will continue to alert the people, because if this spreads and the government doesn't pay attention, we might see another period of fearful deaths.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Look, we have seen this before. When there was a cholera outbreak, Durgaprasad Paramahamsa of the Sri Guru Ashram spoke about it. His Guru, Niyananda Maharaj, told him to perform a Yajna (ritual) to mitigate it. He did, and while the village was saved, his own wife and daughter passed away. He brought the "Yam" (God of Death) into his own home to save others.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Similarly, we are performing Homa (sacrificial fire) every single day for world peace and human welfare, and to ensure this disease is eradicated. Today was a special day—a Saturday, Ashtami, and Siddha Yoga. We performed a Homa this morning. Spiritual leaders in the past did this too. We haven't stopped; we have performed it for thousands of days and will continue.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
I believe in the power of Homa. We are combining the Tantric method and the Vedic method. The power is much higher. We are chanting both types of mantras together. Durgaprasad Paramahamsa did this once at his Guru's instruction for world peace. We are doing it continuously.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
The only problem is the scarcity of wood and the high price of ghee. People contribute, but it isn't much, so we have to buy it ourselves. It's expensive, but we keep doing it daily. My request to all those in the spiritual line, in various missions and temples, is that they should all join in. If everyone does this Yajna together, the disease will be driven out faster. Spiritual power can fight this.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
As I said before, my predictions have come true. Spiritual power must be awakened to destroy the "Asura" of this disease. Everyone should perform Homa. Many temples are just there to make money. They should focus on human welfare. Temples aren't just for taking money and sweets; they are for serving people. Those in charge of temples who receive public money should perform these rituals daily. We don't take money; we spend our own to do this for the sake of the world. If a temple doesn't serve humanity, it might as well be torn down.
Devotee:
Dear viewers, Gurudev spoke so passionately because the current global situation requires more than just medical science; spiritual strength is also needed. We bring doctors here to sit with Gurudev so we can offer a combined perspective.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Only a doctor can dictate how the disease is managed. That's why I have many doctors who are my disciples. I request them to speak so people become alert. People need to be informed about the consequences of this disease. We are doing our part with the Homa.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
This is a temple; many people come here. I have to think about their well-being. It's not about just keeping a deity and earning money. A temple is for service and welfare.
Devotee:
Doctor, please offer one last word of caution.
Dr. Amitabha Paul:
I agree with Gurudev. We can only alert people, but they must listen. It requires a collective effort: the state and central administrations, the public, hospitals, doctors, and the spiritual world. Just as Goddess Durga killed Mahishasura, we as common people must kill this "Asura" of a virus. A difficult time is coming with Delta Plus and the third wave. We must all get vaccinated, wear masks, and avoid crowds. I know there is economic hardship, but we must endure it to stay alive. Save yourself and help others stay safe.
Devotee:
Gurudev, please conclude.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
I have said what I needed to say. I won't say the government isn't helping, but they seem indifferent. They are opening things up because people are suffering, but the consequences will be dire. Cases will jump from 800 to 8,000. The government should have a full vision. They closed schools and education; they should be just as strict with other sectors. There's no certainty about when the third wave will hit.
Devotee:
Gurudev, thank you for this discussion. We had Dr. Amitabha Paul with us today. Greetings, Gurudev.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Greetings. Greetings.
