Namaskar, Gurudev.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Namaskar. Tell me.

First of all, a warm welcome to all our friends. You are watching this video on our channel, GuptasadhakShamakhaapa.com. Please subscribe to this channel so we can bring more valuable videos to you. Gurudev, today's topic of discussion is 'Omkar' (the sound of Om).
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Omkar, yes. There were many types of deities in ancient times. Over time, those deities faded, and forms like Kali and Tara emerged because Vedic recitations became less common. However, the Omkar sound and the Gayatri mantra originated from the 24 tattvas (principles/deities). Ancient sages, through the power of yoga, discovered that the ultimate protector and benevolent being is Shiva himself. If you can surrender to him or offer yourself to him, you become complete. Shiva signifies benevolence; he who does good is Shiva. That is why we say, "Practice Shiva-Sadhana." Shiva-Shakti is a formidable power.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
I have explained Omkar to you. Now, consider the questions: "Who am I?", "Where have I come from?", and "What is my purpose?" These three things are already stated, but people do not know them. When I ask someone "Who are you?", I rarely get an answer. People don't know where they came from or what they should do. But if you sit with great saints, they will explain this to you. "Who am I?"—I am He. "He" refers to the Divine. I am that Divine from whom I have come. Those who have practiced sadhana know this.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Where did I come from? I came from that Divine. Humans try to create a child's form, but the life force comes from elsewhere. Parents do not give the life force; if they did, they would die. The life force comes from that "Amritamayi" (nectar-filled) and "Tejomayi" (radiant) Being who resides in the space of our hearts. Parents provide the body; they build the physical form. But the life force comes from that Being who receives nothing but creates from one side and dissolves from the other. This is the "Amritamayi Tejomayi Purusha," the Lord of Lords, Mahadev, who resides within us. He creates you and He will dissolve you. Thus, creation, preservation, and destruction are all within your body. Truth and falsehood are also within you.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
The eyes see truth, but the ears can hear falsehood. I have seen it with my eyes, so it is true. But what I hear with my ears might just be a rumor. Therefore, do not pay heed to rumors. Remember, within the body, the eyes represent truth and the ears represent falsehood. Everything is hidden within the human body—even a 'Black Hole.'
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
There is a black hole in our heads. Do you understand what a black hole is? It has the power to swallow the Earth or the Sun at any time. Similarly, we have a black hole in our minds. Consider all the pain and suffering we endure. If these were constantly present in our memories, we would go mad. All the sorrow and pain go into that mental black hole, and we are able to move on. Throughout our lives, we experience so much pain, joy, and sorrow, yet we forget. This is because the black hole in our brain absorbs them. If someone's mother passes away or a loved one dies, they experience immense grief and cannot eat. But eventually, that black hole absorbs the sorrow. If it weren't there, a person would lose their mind from the weight of all they have seen.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Regarding Omkar, my point is that the practice of chanting Omkar has almost stopped. People no longer practice it. If someone were to study and practice Omkar, they would understand many things. That's why we say, before calling upon God, steady yourself and chant the Omkar sound. Project it as much as you can. "Ommmmm..." like this. This "Nada" (sound) should rise from the Muladhara and pass through the Swadhisthana and out through the mouth. This sound you hear is the "Pranava." Whenever any mantra is chanted, it is preceded and followed by the Omkar sound. This is the "Pranava."
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
These practices have faded, but perhaps they are returning. In the coming days, there might be a resurgence of this practice. Today, there are few people left who truly know this. This is why we say you don't necessarily need elaborate rituals; just chant the Omkar sound. Sit in one place and chant "Om," letting it rise from the navel area and pass through the heart. It reaches the "Hriday-Akash" (the space of the heart), where the radiant, immortal Being, Mahadev, resides. He hears it. This will lead to mental, physical, and financial improvement. That is why it is said: Om at the beginning, Om at the end. Chanting this Pranava mantra purifies the body and mind, and your entire day will go well.

Gurudev, what is the best time for this practice?
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
You should always try to do it. This world is full of noise; at every moment, there is noise somewhere. You can't even talk in peace. There is the sound of cars, people, or bells. However, the world becomes quiet after 3:00 AM. You can sit 24 minutes (one danda) before sunrise. Sit and chant Omkar. Watch the sun rise. Observe the sun; it will bring many benefits. Your eyes will remain healthy, and your inner soul will become pure and clear.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
The reason people suffer so much today is that their minds are not clean. Their souls are not pure. Because of impure souls, there is so much sorrow. This suffering will vanish if the inner soul is cleansed. To reform and clear the clutter from the soul, we have prayer and worship. The sole purpose of worship is to purify the mind and the inner soul.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Waking up early and letting the morning sun touch your body creates Vitamin D—doctors say this too.

Most people nowadays wake up late because they stay up at night.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
That's because of this—the telephone, or what you call the mobile phone. This has become a curse. We can see that the mobile phone is a curse of science, not a blessing. True, you can sit here and talk to someone in Delhi, Bombay, or anywhere in the world. You can see your relatives on a screen. But the ill effects are maximum. If the benefits are 10%, the ill effects are 90%. People are engrossed in this. You see them on the streets with earphones plugged in, oblivious to what is in front or behind them, not caring about cars or people. They just walk, plugged in. They have no idea what is happening in the world around them.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
So, I say, make it a habit. Humans are slaves to habit. By practicing, everything becomes possible. First, try to wake up early. Even if you can't bathe, wash your face and hands, change your clothes, and sit. Meditate for a while and chant Omkar. You will see that your mind feels much better.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Now, let me chant a mantra related to Kamakhya. My office asked me to recite a mantra. We seek the blessing of Kamakhya. When we visit Kamakhya, we recite: "Kamakhye varade devi neela parvata vaasini, tvam devi jagatam mata yoni mudre namostute. Kamakhye kaama sampanne kaameshvari hari priye, kaamanaam dehi me nityam kaameshvari namostute. Om shrung shrung shrung sa phat aim hring kleeng, jvala jvala prajvala hring hring kleeng, shravaya shravaya shaapam naashaya naashaya, shree shree shree jha sa adaha swaha. Namaste rudra roopayai namaste madhu mardini, namaste kaitabha haryai namaste mahisha mardini."
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
This is addressed to Goddess Kamakhya. "Om tvam swaha tvam swadha tvam hi vashatkaryah swaraatmika, sudha tvam akshare nitye tridhaa maatraatmika sthitaa. Ardha maatraa sthitaa nityaa yaanu caaryaa visheshatah, tvameva sandhyaa saavitree jananee paramaa. Tvayaitad dhaaryate sarvam tvayaitat srijyate jagat, tvayaitat paalyate devi tvamatsyante ca sarvadaa.
