Disciple: Greetings, Gurudev.
Gurudev: Greetings, my son.
Disciple: Gurudev, we have heard about "Nishi Dak" (The Night Call) in many stories and from various places. Is this real?
Gurudev: This is true. Tell me.
Disciple: We've heard it in stories told in many different ways. How much of "Nishi Dak" is true and how much is a myth?
Gurudev: It is entirely true. Absolutely true. Nishi Dak—meaning a call at midnight—happens on specific days, especially during the New Moon (Amavasya), Full Moon (Purnima), or Ekadashi. If someone has an enmity or dispute with another, they use this. They will call out only once—never three times, just once. If you respond to that single call, they have certain tools, like bottles or coconuts, with which they "capture" that sound or vibration.
Gurudev: Later, they use that captured sound in cremation grounds (shhmashana). It is a very horrific practice. As I have said before and will say again, these are very low-level spiritual practices, yet many people are doing them. Some do it out of excitement, some for pleasure, or some to take revenge on someone they dislike.
Gurudev: We always say one thing: never go to a Tantrik. Tantriks can be horrific, and they do not follow any moral codes. They do not care about your well-being; they only want your harm. That is why I say don't go to them. Nishi Dak is a very real and terrifying truth.
Gurudev: For instance, when we use "consecrated oil" (Tel Malish) for spiritual protection against ghosts or spirits, we say it must be "oil bought in one call" (Ek Dake Tel). You go and say, "Give me 100ml of oil," and that's it. If you have to ask a second time, it won't work. The transaction must happen in one single exchange.
Gurudev: Regarding Nishi Dak, at night, there might be three knocks on your door or window while you are sleeping. You might wake up, and then you'll hear someone calling your name. If you simply ask, "Who is it?", that's enough. They will absorb that response and use it for their rituals later.
Gurudev: That is why we advise being careful at night, especially on New Moon nights. The New Moon is a powerful and dangerous time. The New Moon, Full Moon, and Ekadashi are three significant times. On a New Moon night, we even advise people not to seek divine visions (Darshan). Many people go to Tarapith for worship on the New Moon. I tell those who come to me: don't seek visions at Tarapith on the New Moon. It won't benefit you; it might even cause harm.
Gurudev: Many people have suffered great losses. They come to me after performing rituals at home or in cremation grounds, having lost everything. I've seen many such cases—not just one, but many. They tell me they have lost everything and feel like committing suicide. When I ask what happened, they reveal they performed rituals at the cremation ground. Someone might have told them to go offer incense at a funeral pyre on a New Moon night. They are ordinary people; they don't know the dangers. Those things become a curse. Offering incense or lamps during the New Moon is not advisable because the spirits and the cremation grounds are "awake" then.
Gurudev: I don't know why it happens, but on the New Moon, ghosts and spirits are active, and so are deities like Tara or Kali. That's why we say: don't come to the cremation grounds on a New Moon night. It is not a good place to be then. They take things from the deceased—hair, clothes, and other items—especially if the deceased was a married woman or a child. Tantriks wait for such opportunities. They try to cut hair or clothes to use in their dark practices. It is a very low and disgusting work. That is why I say, when you see someone in red robes (Tantriks), run away. They won't do you any good.
Gurudev: Sometimes, they see a house where the men are away. They might arrive in the morning and claim there is a cobra (Keute snake) in the house. I have even seen them release a semi-conscious snake themselves. Then they "find" it and tell the women, "There's a cobra here; it will harm your children." They extract 200 or 500 rupees from the frightened family for "removing" it.
Gurudev: Tantriks use these tricks. They claim there are black cat bones or human bones buried in your yard. In reality, black cat bones are highly valued by practitioners even in countries like the UK, Germany, or Japan. They are worth lakhs of rupees there.
Disciple: There are many books on Black Magic in English and other languages. If there were no applications for these things, why would so many books be written?
Gurudev: Exactly. Black cat bones or human remains are very harmful to a household's spiritual balance (Vastu). Tantriks claim these things are buried and insist on performing a ritual to "remove" them. They target houses when the men are away and the women are home alone.
Disciple: Gurudev, what is the connection between these Tantriks and Nishi Dak?
Gurudev: They research which house to target, who to call, and what time is suitable. They learn names so that when they call, the person responds. Sometimes they even trick people beforehand, telling them, "If you hear a call at night, make sure you answer; it will bring you blessings from the Goddess." It's all a web of lies. There is no truth in it, only deception to extort money.
Gurudev: I have seen the damage they cause. Thousands of people come to me with these issues. A Tantrik can destroy a person; I have seen it thousands of times.
Disciple: Can you give an example of the kind of harm that happens after a Nishi Dak encounter?
Gurudev: Financial ruin. Or multiple deaths in a family. I've seen cases where four or five family members died one after another—father, uncle, etc. It happens when there is a "death curse" (Mrityu Dosh). If a death occurs and there is a spiritual "fault," it draws more deaths.
Gurudev: There was a case in Champahati where six people from one family died. The house became like a cremation ground. I had to perform many rituals to fix it. These things don't happen naturally; they are either done by a Tantrik or caused by a severe spiritual "fault."
Gurudev: In the almanac (Panji), you can find the position of the "Yogini." If the Yogini is in the Ishan (Northeast) direction, she comes to take the soul. If a death occurs during such a time, we tell the family to be ready, because it will likely draw another person.
Disciple: How do you determine the "Yogini in the Northeast"? Is it based on the position of the body?
Gurudev: The almanac tells us. Based on the time of death, we see where the Yogini is located. She comes for the soul. If there is a spiritual "fault" and the Yogini is in the Northeast, it's very dangerous. It's even riskier if the bathroom or toilet is in that direction. These things are all related to Vastu.
Gurudev: Nishi Dak only happens at night, usually after midnight. It still happens today and causes great loss to people.
Disciple: These days, there are many audio stories about Tantra and Nishi Dak. Some stories mention that after the call, the person becomes catatonic or starts running aimlessly.
Gurudev: They can even take people away. I knew of a very beautiful girl. Someone called her name at night, she went outside, and she was taken. I later saw her in a horrific state—wrapped in a gunny bag, her mind completely gone. I've seen this in Tarapith and other places. People say they are "Aghoris," but the state they leave people in is tragic. When the call comes at night, people lose their senses and just follow it. They are often taken away in vehicles, and they aren't even aware of what's happening.
Disciple: Gurudev, is there any way for an ordinary person to save themselves at the primary stage?
Gurudev: How can anyone save you at midnight? You only realize what has happened two or three days later, after the damage is already done. Many people have simply disappeared at night. There was a man here named Putu Mistri whose wife disappeared at night and was never found. One of our teachers also lost his wife that way; she just vanished one night.
Gurudev: Nowadays, people might look for other explanations for such disappearances, but these spiritual factors still exist. Whether people believe it or not, I have seen it. Nishi Dak happens after midnight, often on Saturdays or Tuesdays. If you respond, they might pull you out of the house, and your family won't even know.
Gurudev: However, the power of mantras has decreased now. They aren't as potent as they once were because they have been misused so much. Like a knife that loses its edge with constant use, these powers have dulled. That is why Tantriks can't achieve as much now as they used to.
Gurudev: High-level Tantriks won't touch these things. It's the low-level, petty Tantriks who do this. That is why I tell you again and again: do not associate with Tantriks. Do not talk to them. If they come to your house, drive them away. They have ruined so many homes. I have seen the wreckage they leave behind. Do not trust them. Leave your well-being in the hands of God.
Disciple: Many people requested a video on Nishi Dak. We made a small one before, but this is a more detailed discussion. That is all for today. We will be back with a new video. Greetings, Gurudev.
Gurudev: Greetings, my son.
