Speaker 1:
Gurudev, I offer my respects.
Guru:
Blessings, my son, blessings.
Speaker 1:
In previous episodes, we have heard from you about the Dashamahavidya (the Ten Great Wisdoms). Along with that, we are learning from you about the Navagraha (the Nine Planets) associated with the Dashamahavidya. Today, we would like to hear from you about Mercury (Budh).
Guru:
The deity of Mercury is Mother Kamakhya. She is also known as Ambika. She is the presiding deity of Mercury. Mercury bestows upon us intelligence (Buddhi) and education (Vidya). These two things are granted by Mercury: intelligence and knowledge.
Guru:
In any field of work or education, nothing can be achieved without Mercury. The English name for Budh is Mercury. Now, Mercury is gradually shrinking; it is becoming smaller. You can observe a certain distortion in human society today—this is happening because of Mercury. Mercury is a planet that is slowly burning away and getting smaller. A time will come when the Sun will engulf it. At that point, Mercury will no longer exist as a planet.
Guru:
Mercury's role is to provide people with education and auspicious knowledge. When Mercury aligns with the Sun, we call it the Budh-Aditya Yoga. Mercury can be considered our "Prana" (life force). If one is studying but cannot focus or succeed, Mercury plays a vital role in those matters.
Guru:
As Mercury gets smaller and burns away, humans will increasingly adopt animalistic tendencies (pashu-vritti). Since Mercury provides us with intelligence, wisdom, and the arts, as it shrinks, those auspicious qualities will vanish. Humans will gradually take on animalistic traits. This is being controlled by Mother Kamakhya, the presiding deity of Mercury.
Guru:
The offerings for Mercury include: Moong dal, ivory (Hasti Danta)—which is rare to find in the market, but a small piece is needed—camphor, fruits, and ghee. If someone offers these items on a Wednesday in Mother's temple—or in a Kali temple if they cannot reach Kamakhya—they will receive the same benefits.
Guru:
We suggest making these offerings for Mercury: Moong dal, ivory, fruits, and ghee. If you offer these with a resolution (Sankalpa) in Mercury's name, you will see results. I will repeat the items: Moong dal, a bit of ivory, camphor, fruits, and ghee. Arrange these on a plate and offer them in Mother's temple on a Wednesday to receive the benefits.
Guru:
Additionally, we provide mantras (Japa) when we see that someone's Mercury is in a bad state. Usually, a weak Mercury leads to unemployment, domestic unrest, and low-quality communication. These are the effects of Mercury. Therefore, if someone has a weak Mercury, they should make these donations and take a mantra for Mercury. You can chant Mercury's mantra or Mother Kamakhya's mantra—it is the same. Connect with the deity; connect with the root source, and much can be achieved.
Guru:
My advice is that if someone's Mercury is poorly positioned, remembering Mother Kamakhya or chanting her name can alleviate the ill effects. There are also gemstones available, such as the Emerald (Panna), specifically for Mercury.
Guru:
Everything depends on the "degree" of the planet at the time of birth. If the degree is low, Mercury becomes debilitated. If Mercury is also aspected by Rahu or Ketu, the situation worsens. In such cases, we suggest worshipping Mother Kamakhya, reciting her hymns (Stotra), or chanting her name. And as I mentioned, donating Moong dal, ivory, fruits, ghee, and camphor on a Wednesday with a sincere resolution can significantly mitigate the Mercury-related problems.
Speaker 1:
Gurudev, you mentioned chanting (Japa). If it's possible, could you tell us more about the chant?
Guru:
Well, that is a long and sacred chant. If someone comes to me in person, I can whisper it into their ear. I cannot say it publicly over a microphone because it pertains to Mother Kamakhya. Mother Kamakhya is Shodashi (the Girl of Sixteen). There are sixteen syllables in her mantra. We have been instructed that the sixteen-syllable mantra of Mother Shodashi must be practiced properly. If someone requests it, I can write it down for them or speak it into their ear. That will bring results. But I cannot say it over the microphone. Glory to Mother Kamakhya.
Speaker 1:
Gurudev, we have listened to you today regarding Mercury. In future episodes, we will hear about the other planets as well.
Guru:
The next planet is Venus (Shukra), whose presiding deity is Mother Bhuvaneshwari. If you wish, I will speak about Mother Bhuvaneshwari next time.
Speaker 1:
Certainly. We will hear about each of them in the upcoming episodes. To our friends watching, just as you are following and subscribing to the "Gupta Sadhak Shyama Khyapa" YouTube channel, Gurudev requests that you subscribe even more. Please like and share the videos so that we can hear more of Gurudev's valuable insights on various topics. My respects, Gurudev.
Guru:
Blessings.
Outro Chant:
Om Aim Shreem Shreem Budhaya Namaha.
