Interviewer:
Greetings, Gurudev.
Gurudev:
Greetings, greetings. Let's begin.
Interviewer:
We have been listening to you on our YouTube channel, "Gupta Sadhak Shyama Khyapa," regarding the relationship between the Ten Mahavidyas and the nine planets. Today, we would like to hear about the Mahavidya Bagalamukhi and her connection to the planets.
Gurudev:
Look, Bagalamukhi is the subduer of enemies—Shatru Nigrahakarini. Just as Dhumavati subdues enemies, you can see from the iconography of Mother Bagalamukhi that she is pulling out the tongue of a demon. In her hand, she holds a stone mace. By pulling the enemy's tongue and striking them with the mace, she paralyzes them—this is called Stambhan—so they cannot speak. This is Bagalamukhi, the subduer of enemies.
Gurudev:
When we perform her dhyana (meditation), the mantra goes:
Gurudev:
"Madhyé sudhābdhi-maṇi-maṇḍapa-ratna-védīm Simhāsana-parigatāṃ paripīta-varṇām Pītāmbarābharaṇa-mālya-vibhūṣitāṅgīm Devīm bhajāmi dhṛta-mudgara-vairi-jihvām Jihvāgram ādāya kareṇa devīm Vāmena śatruṃ paripīḍayanti Gadābhighātena ca dakṣiṇena Pītāmbarāḍhyām dvibhujām namāmi."
Gurudev:
We envision the Mother seated upon a man who is lying down. This man is none other than Lord Mahadeva, often referred to as Ekavaktra Shiva. We offer our salutations to Bagalamukhi:
Gurudev:
"Om Hreem Bagalamukhi Sarva Dushtanam Vacham Mukham Stambhaya Jihvam Keelaya Keelaya Buddhim Vinashaya Hreem Om Swaha."
Gurudev:
Now, the planet associated with Bagalamukhi is Mars (Mangal). Humans are currently trying to set foot on Mars; they have already sent many things there. I don't know what kind of defense Mars will put up, because I believe the life forms existing on Mars will not let us off easily. Mars is extremely mysterious.
Gurudev:
If someone has a badly placed Mars, they cannot maintain a stable family life. If Mars is conjoined with malefic planets like Rahu or Ketu, the person struggles to maintain a household. Furthermore, Mars can hinder one's overall progress.
Gurudev:
We often talk about "Mangalik" (auspicious) rituals. We use "Mangalik" items like raw turmeric in weddings, sacred thread ceremonies (Paita), and first-rice ceremonies (Annaprashan). You'll notice that during a wedding, the bride and groom are smeared with raw turmeric because it is auspicious. This is for the grace of Mars.
Gurudev:
The color of the Mother is yellow, like raw turmeric, but the color of Mars is red. Mars is constantly worshipping the Mother. All things that are truly auspicious are the result of Mars' spiritual practice.
Gurudev:
In terms of gemstones, red coral is the primary stone for Mars. We also suggest certain remedies involving the Ganges. There is a ritual where ten specific items are placed in a clay bowl and set afloat in the Ganges during high tide. This is a very effective way to mitigate the malefic effects of Mars.
Gurudev:
However, in a literal sense, Mars does not want to relent easily. Why? In my view, where "Mangalik" (auspicious) work is happening, people are introducing "Amangalik" (inauspicious) elements. For instance, fish is considered auspicious; we send fish as part of wedding gifts. But today, people are serving meat at weddings and receptions.
Gurudev:
Meat is "Amangalik." Omkarnath once said, "You may eat fish, but do not eat meat." Fish is associated with Mars' auspicious side, but meat is not. In almost every house I visit, regardless of what else is served, meat is being cooked. When you introduce inauspicious elements into an auspicious ceremony like a wedding, the results are disastrous.
Gurudev:
This is why we see so many divorces today. There isn't a single wedding or reception where meat isn't served. I see the consequences every day—I get ten to twenty cases of divorce daily. Some are separated after three months, some after two months, some even after just seven days. This is all due to Mars. When inauspiciousness is mixed with auspicious work, the marriage breaks, and the household is ruined.
Gurudev:
So, I say: do not bring inauspicious things where Mars is active.
Interviewer:
Gurudev, could you elaborate on the items you mentioned for the Mars ritual?
Gurudev:
For the Mars offerings, we use a clay bowl (Sora), some raw turmeric, sweets, camphor, and yellow cloth. There are about eight to ten items. We place them in the clay bowl and set them afloat in the Ganges during high tide. Then, one should take that holy water and pour it over a Shiva Linga while chanting the names of the deity. This helps mitigate the malefic effects of Mars. Many people have tried this and found relief.
Gurudev:
But I repeat: do not serve meat at weddings or receptions. People choose meat because it's cheaper than fish, but look at the cost to their lives. The divorce rate is a direct result of this.
Interviewer:
You also mentioned that these planets are constantly worshipping their respective deities.
Gurudev:
Everyone is. You think only you are performing puja, but the deities and planets are also in a state of constant action—Kriya. You just don't know it. Lord Mahadeva is in a state of Kriya Yoga. Lord Narayana and Lord Brahma are also engaged in their yogic actions. All the planets are performing Kriya, and their movements affect human lives. Everyone is active; no one is without Kriya. Even God is performing Kriya. You might not know what Mahadeva is meditating on in sub-zero temperatures, but he is in Kriya Yoga. I found this in a book—Kriya Yoga is a powerful practice performed by gods, humans, and planets alike.
Interviewer:
So Mars is worshipping his chosen deity, Bagalamukhi.
Gurudev:
Yes. Bagalamukhi is a powerful science (Vidya). If one wishes to worship her, it must be done in the morning—Prata Madhyahna. After the worship, the idol or picture of Mother Bagalamukhi should be covered with a yellow cloth so that her face is not seen for the rest of the day. She is a very intense deity. If the rituals are slightly off, she can be very punishing.
Gurudev:
She is known for Maran (destruction), Uchatan (unsettling), and Vashikaran (influence). This is a significant part of Tantra. I recently saw a practitioner who came to me.
Interviewer:
Yes, you mentioned this in a previous episode.
Gurudev:
She was very ill. Her disciples brought her to me. She was so weak she could only perform puja while sitting in a chair. I told her she needed the Mother's grace. She came here, sat on the ground to worship, and afterward, she was able to walk without her stick. She called me today from Kalyani to say she is doing very well. These deities are powerful, and if you disrespect the rituals, the consequences are heavy.
Gurudev:
Keep Mars auspicious, and do not let inauspiciousness enter your life.
Interviewer:
Thank you, Gurudev. We've learned so much about Mars today. To our viewers, please subscribe to our channel, "Gupta Sadhak Shyama Khyapa," and share these videos.
