Interviewer:
Salutations, Gurudev. First, I greet all our friends. Friends, please subscribe to the YouTube channel *Guptasadhakshyamakhapa.com*. The more you subscribe, the better we will be able to present Gurudevās wonderful videos to you.
Interviewer:
So, just as other great sages and mahatmas are secluded in caves and mountains, performing meditations to protect the creation, is this Maha Mrityunjaya Yagna something similar?
Gurudev:
Exactly. It is the same thing. To prevent untimely destruction? Yes, exactly. He is performing the Maha Mrityunjaya; he is a great sage. Otherwise, he couldnāt do it.
Gurudev:
I have received news from many places. News came from Japan regarding this for world peace. They heard that this Maha Mrityunjaya Yagna is being performed by the Rajpur Sadhu. A Samurai even came to visit me. He congratulated me and hugged me, saying, "You are doing this for the welfare of the world and human peace." There are photos of this; you will see them.
Gurudev:
Now, do you know where the real Mrityunjaya is? It is in Mecca. The Shiva you see in Meccaāthat is the real Maha Mrityunjaya. Who established it? Shukracharya, the Guru of the world. Just as Shankaracharya is the Guru for Hindus, Shukracharya is the Guru for the Muslims. That is why Muslims observe Friday (Shukrabar). It is named after Shukracharya. They call it Jumma.
Gurudev:
Everything that exists, exists there in Mecca. Inside the square structure in Mecca, the one who resides there is Maha Mrityunjaya. That is why you see me respect Mecca so much. I even kept a picture of Mecca. Many people came and rebuked me for it. They asked, "Why are you keeping this photo? You are a Hindu; why do you have a Muslim photo?" I was surprised. They are ignorant; they know nothing. I told them, "If you have the power, take it down. I won't let you." I know that to perform Mrityunjaya, Mecca is essential. Without Mecca, Mrityunjaya cannot be complete.
Interviewer:
Gurudev, you are above allāHindu, Muslim, Christian. Ordinary people cannot feel or realize this.
Gurudev:
That is indeed due to ignorance. They lack study. But in this age, Google has made things easier. People can find out anything on Googleāabout the Himalayas, about the Goddess, about all the deities. This is a great advantage.
Gurudev:
Performing this Mrityunjaya was very difficult for us. It cost nearly 1 million rupees and took a year to complete. Why did I do it? For world peace and human welfare. I thought, if even a little bit can be achieved through me... Like Sage Dadhichi said, "If my body can be sacrificed so that the demon Vritra dies, I am ready." I also made a vow to Mahadev, who resides in my inner sky.
Gurudev:
I asked, "Lord, let me do this. I know I might die, but please accept this." He accepted the Yagna. He was always present. I wasn't the only one who felt it; many people here experienced it. A long-haired gentleman came all the way from Pashupatinath (Nepal). He hugged me and fell at my feet, saying, "You are a great soul. I heard in Pashupatinath that you are performing a 1,000-day Maha Mrityunjaya Yagna, so I came."
Gurudev:
He saw the sacrificial pit (Yagnakunda) and sat there. He recited some mantras, then sat at my feet and called me a "Mahapurush" (Great Soul). I said, "No, I am an ordinary man." He replied, "You are complete; what can I give you? I came to receive something from you."
In the Mrityunjaya Yagna, we saw that when offerings (Hovi) are made, they are given in the name of various great sages and deitiesāfrom Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar to the holy rivers like Ganga and Yamuna. We must give to everyone. There are 42 monks in India whose names must be included in the offerings.
Gurudev:
You will be surprised to hear this. One morning, a disciple of mine, who chants a lot, came to me and said, "Gurudev, I am in trouble." I asked what happened. He said, "Last night at 3:30 AM, I was meditating. I heard a voice. I looked around but saw no one. But a sound was coming: 'Why are we not getting any offerings? We are the sages of the Saptarishi (Seven Sages) circle. He is sitting there; why is he not giving us offerings?'"
Gurudev:
Believe me, I got goosebumps. He told me they were asking why they weren't included. It became clear to me then. There are two Saptarishisāthe Lesser Saptarishi (the Pole Star/Saptarishi constellation) and the Great Saptarishi. When they directly asked why they weren't getting their share, I began giving offerings to both the Saptarishi and the Lesser Saptarishi. That is why I once said that I am a sage of the Saptarishi circle.
Gurudev:
We perform Maha Mrityunjaya for world peace. If done correctly, He responds. In my case, He did. Iāve heard doctors say that if the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra is continuously chanted into the ear of a dying person on their deathbed, they can come back to life and recover. Doctors from AIIMS and others, like Dr. Anjan Dasgupta, have said that this mantra has immense power.
Gurudev:
After that, we performed the Nikumbhila Yagna, which Indrajit (from Ramayana) once performed. These things we have done will remain immortal in history. According to the Manu Samhita, if a grand ritual is performed, it should be dedicated to the King. In West Bengal, our "King" is Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. So, I had to dedicate it in her name.
Gurudev:
Her name is on the stone plaque, along with Sovandeb Chattopadhyay and others whom I consider good people. I dedicated the Maha Mrityunjaya to her because the ruler represents the strength of the people. Although she never cameāperhaps she received the newsāwe sent a greeting to Nabanna (the State Secretariat). But they said, "No, you aren't registered, so this cannot be accepted." This is a shame for West Bengal. When we say we have performed a 1,000-day ritual for peace, they talk about registration? Since when do sages need registration?
Gurudev:
It doesn't matter to me, but I had to dedicate it to someone. Who else but the ruler? These "big heads" in the administration don't understand spiritual knowledge. Anyway, we are fulfilled. I will recite the nine verses of the ritual for you. We have given offerings to every deity and every great soul, both in the heavens and on earth. This is our good fortune.
Gurudev:
