Devotee: Greetings, Gurudev.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Greetings, son.
Devotee: I also pay my respects to Mother Tara of Shantikunj today.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Yes, tell me.
Devotee: Gurudev, we know a little bit about it, but it's not entirely clear to us—that is the matter of Karna Pishach.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Why do you bother your head with these things? Why bother? This is a low-level practice. Karna Pishach is a matter of low-level practice, dominated by Tamas—the quality of darkness and ignorance. Those who practice Pishach sadhana are under Tamas; they are at a lower level and can never rise. They never have any contact with the Mother.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: There was a Pishach Siddha in Tarapith; I don't know if you've seen him—his name was Kalo Baran, the Black-skinned One. If you saw his children... one was called Ganesh, who used to sit and beg. It's a fact. His nose had grown long, like an elephant's trunk. Some people even worshipped him as Ganesh right there in Tarapith. I don't know if he's still there now; I saw him about 10 years ago.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: I am talking about him. I have only seen Kalo Baba as a Pishach Siddha. I sat with him, ate with him, and had tea. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him that he was a Pishach Siddha. He was a prominent figure, a great master in the field of Pishach. But Pishach is not a good thing, son. It is dominated by Tamas, and God does not like it. Pishach, Pishachi—God doesn't like these things at all. They are low-level and always descending. They have no connection with God.
Devotee: Then, Gurudev, whom do they worship?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: They worship Pishach and Pishachi.
Devotee: What is the benefit for the seeker who performs this sadhana?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: It's an addiction. An addiction, an addiction, an addiction. It's nothing but an addiction, son.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: If one finds a proper guru—a Pishach Siddha guru—one must take the mantra from him. After taking the mantra, one must maintain certain restraints. The mantras must be recited many times, over and over. And they must be recited in crematoriums, in bad places, places full of filth. Or sitting in a Dom-ghar, a morgue or room where corpses are handled. If this sadhana is done in a morgue, it is considered an ideal place. The rule is to stay there for 21 days.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Those who perform this sadhana need two things. First, they need to collect certain human body parts. They collect them from there.
Devotee: From the morgue?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: From the morgue. And another thing: when a corpse is being cremated, the bamboo stick used to push the body into the fire is very important. Cutting off one hand-span of the tip of that bamboo is useful for them. To become a Karna Pishach Siddha, one must stay in a crematorium or a closed room for 21 days—specifically morgues or places where ghosts and spirits frequent.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: One must do everything—eating, drinking, and even urinating or defecating—right there in that spot, whether it's in a morgue or a crematorium. It takes time to become a Siddha. It takes at least 21 days. Sometimes, branches of the Guye Babla tree are needed. One needs feces; one must sit with a Tilak forehead mark made of their own feces, just like a sandalwood mark. All sorts of vile, low-level tasks must be performed. After 21 days of sadhana, you cannot leave the crematorium.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: You must stay within the boundary, the Gondi. Eating and defecating happen in the same place. That is how it is for Pishachs. Sometimes, they even eat the flesh from a corpse's head or body. They do these things. To become a Pishach Siddha, one must do this. While a body is burning, they might take a piece of flesh with a pair of tongs and eat it. Along with alcohol—alcohol is a must. They consume everything with alcohol.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: These are the traits of a Pishach. After 21 days, a divine voice, an Aakashbani, is heard. What that voice will demand, even the person becoming a Pishach Siddha doesn't know beforehand. It might ask for human blood; it might ask for goat's blood. Whatever the Pishach asks for, if it isn't provided within 48 hours, the seeker will die. There is a 48-hour window. Two days. If you can provide it, you succeed; if not, death is certain. Many try to offer dolls made of thickened milk, khir, but that doesn't work. Whatever is asked for must be given. They are Pishachs; they understand nothing but blood.
Devotee: You said Aakashbani, Gurudev, but it seems it should be called Pishachbani, because good things usually come from the sky.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: No, it will be a voice from the sky. Karna Pishach literally means speaking into the ear. Pishachs follow him and whisper many things into his ear. That is the nature of Pishachs. It is extremely low; you would feel disgusted. They focus heavily on corpses; they eat corpse flesh. If they see charred meat, they cannot resist; they become restless to eat it. I saw a gentleman at our crematorium...
Guru Shyama Khyapa: He said to me one day, Shyamal Da, I will perform Pishach sadhana here to become a Pishach Siddha. I said, Fine, then do it. He said, You have to watch over me. Watching over meant staying in the room where the bodies are cremated. There was a small room there. At that time, it took two or three people to burn a body. He stayed in that room. If a divine voice comes, you have to provide whatever is asked. On an Ashtami day, a body arrived from an old age home. Those from old age homes usually leave the body with money and leave. The Doms, the cremators, burn the body.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: That day, while the Doms were burning the body, that gentleman—I won't mention his name—poured some alcohol into a human skull and broke the skull with tongs. Something like ghee, marrow and brain matter, started coming out. He caught it in a container, mixed it with alcohol, and drank it. I felt so disgusted that I couldn't eat for four or five days. This is how they become Pishach Siddhas. But there are many difficulties; they cannot go everywhere.
Devotee: Gurudev, you don't support Pishach Siddhas. Why did that gentleman ask you to watch over him?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: That was during my own sadhana period. The gentleman performed the ritual but wasn't successful. No prophecy or voice came. He could not succeed. His face even changed. Those who become Pishach Siddha, their faces change, and their skin color becomes jet black, like copper. They burst with joy when they see a corpse. They even try to cut off the head of a corpse to play football with it. I have seen this too.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: It's a Pishach laugh. And when the Pishach whispers in his ear and laughs, the seeker starts jumping and dancing. The laugh is very eerie. The laughter of Pishachs and Pishachis is terrifying. If you heard it, your skin would crawl and your hair would stand on end.
Devotee: Gurudev, this sadhana doesn't benefit anyone. Are those who do this mentally unstable?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: It seems so. Who else would eat such things? I know because I've seen it. I've met many Pishach Siddhas. Their joy would drive you mad. When the Karna Pishach laughs in the ear, the seeker starts dancing. And the joy they feel upon getting a corpse... I've seen them cut off the head and play with it, tossing it around.
Devotee: Don't the relatives of the deceased object to this?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: How would they? He is an outsider. They don't even want to stay at home; they live in isolated huts. One thing to remember: they are eventually killed by the Pishachs themselves. This is a significant point. And there is always someone with them. They cannot bathe in a pond or go out alone at night. Someone armed must always accompany them; otherwise, the Pishach will drag them away and kill them. That is the rule.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: They cannot use Tulsi leaves or bathe in the Ganges. They bathe in pond water, even the filthiest water. And when the Pishach laughs—you haven't heard it—it's terrifying. They can eat an entire goat. They sacrifice the goat and drink all the blood themselves. One person holds the legs, and the seeker drinks all the blood as it pours out. They smear it on their body and head. They eat chickens, too; they wring the neck and drink the raw blood first.
Devotee: We don't usually get to see these things.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: It's hard to see them, and it's better not to see them. It's wise to stay away. But I have seen them during my sadhana period. I've met many, so I'm giving you these answers based on what I have witnessed. Karna Pishach is terrifying. It is for those with the Tamas quality. They have no connection with God. They do everything through mantras; they call the Pishach with mantras, and the Pishach does their bidding.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: They need a palm tree. If a palm tree is struck by lightning, its roots are considered very powerful for their work. They also perform rituals at wells. People even die. That palm tree is necessary because they hang severed body parts on it. At night, they call the spirits, offer blood, and the spirits drink it and perform tasks for them.
Devotee: Today I learned a lot from you about Pishach Siddhas and their sadhana.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: It's better not to know these things. Many talk about it, but it's best to remove such thoughts from your mind. They are very attractive and addictive. Nowadays, sorcery, Jadu-Tona, has entered many households. This work is often done in Kamakhya. There are some people in Kamakhya, across from Bhootnath, who live in the forest and know these mantras.
Devotee: Let's end here for today, Gurudev. My respects to you.
