On the auspicious day of Thaipusam, taking the command of Deva Senadhipati Kanda โ€” the divine commander of celestial armies โ€” Shri Praveen Radhakrishna officially declares the Kaliputra Mission and its active arm, the Adya Sena. This is not an announcement of a new spiritual group. It is the formal declaration of a civilizational mission: to bring Ma Adya Kali home, to spread Her name through every algorithm and every platform, and to ultimately seat Her in a temple where no one โ€” regardless of wealth or status โ€” can buy their way into Her Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum).

Sri Anand Thakur and the Hidden Vigraham

The story begins approximately one hundred and fifty years ago in Bengal with a largely obscure saint named Sri Anand Thakur. He was a Manasic Shishya (mental disciple) of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa โ€” they never physically met, but Sri Ramakrishna appeared repeatedly in Anand Thakur's visions, guiding him.

Anand Thakur was considered, by most around him, to be mad. In the British-era Bengal where intellectual respectability meant following the path of the Indian Civil Services, a man who sat in corners, had spontaneous visions of Devi, and spoke incoherently about Ma Kali was simply called a social reject. Yet he was, in truth, a deeply empowered Kali Putra being prepared for a specific mission.

In a dream, Sri Ramakrishna gave him precise instructions: go to a small water body under a specific tree in the Eden Gardens area, and there you will find a Vigraham. In absolute secrecy, Anand Thakur and three companions went, retrieved a small one-foot-tall Vigraham of Ma Adya Kali, and brought Her home. She appeared immediately Jagrat (awakened) โ€” vibrant with presence.

This vigraham was not the fierce, terrifying form people expect. She displayed:

She was Saumya (gentle, graceful) in appearance, even while displaying the most Ugra (ferocious) iconography. Her message: Do not fear Me. I am still the Mother.

The Progression of Devi's Forms

To understand why this Vigraham matters, it helps to understand the cosmic arc of how Devi reveals Herself as a Sadhaka advances:

Why She Was Sent Back

Anand Thakur was hit with visions, chaos, and phenomena that he could not digest. He saw in Dhyana that his sacred thread was burning. He received message after message from Ma and from Sri Ramakrishna: break out from the four heads of Brahma โ€” worship Adya as She wishes, not as the Shastras prescribe. But the social conditions of that time, the dominance of the four-headed Brahmic norms, made it impossible. Sri Ramakrishna had left the body. Swami Vivekananda was being placed in Tamas to prepare for his own role.

Finally, Ma came Herself in a vision to Anand Thakur and gave the most definitive message: "It is not yet time. Return Me to the Ganga."

The Vigraham was immersed โ€” Her Visarjan happened in the sacred river. She was not ready to stay because the world was not yet ready to hold Her in the form She truly wished to be held: not with Abhaya Mudra and Varada Mudra, but with Khadga and Trishula โ€” moving forward, not going back.

Sri Ramakrishna's command to Anand Thakur also included a vision of three temples:

  1. A swan-shaped temple with a Jagrat Murti adorned with gold and ornaments
  2. A wooden Radha-Krishna mounted upon Garuda
  3. The central one: Ma Adya Kali standing upon the corpse of Mahadeva โ€” Ashta Dhatu (eight metals) Vigraham

This third temple โ€” and this specific form โ€” is the goal of the Kaliputra Mission.

The Vigraham That Found Its Way

Four to five years before this announcement, a Sthapati (sculptor) near Shri Praveen's home made a Kalika Vigraham. A small crack appeared at the corner of its pedestal. He could not sell it. One of a pair of marble lions he made alongside it also broke โ€” the single remaining lion could not be sold either. Both were left in front of the shop. When Corona arrived and his business stopped, they simply stayed there.

Five years they waited.

One day, without any particular plan, Shri Praveen felt an impulse: go and get a larger Vigraham. He went from shop to shop โ€” every one of them wanted advance orders. Ma does not operate by order. She places Herself, and then She calls you to Her. He found Her at the sculptor's shop โ€” intact under that small crack, lion beside Her, both unclaimed for five years, waiting.

He brought Her home. This is the Vigraham that now stands as the Moola Vigraham โ€” no Abhaya Mudra, no Varada Mudra. Khadga in one hand. Trishula in the other. The Sadhaka's head held upright. She is not going back this time.

Kanda (Murugan) arrived on his own terms as well. A Muruga Bhakta in the United States donated His Vigraham. The delivery was supposed to come on a different day โ€” but the delivery person could not find the house. He returned on a Tuesday, Murugar's day. He came when the Divine Mother called โ€” not when Shri Praveen called. When the Abhishekam (sacred bath) is poured on Ma, the water naturally flows from Her hand onto Kanda placed beside Her. He is drenched by Her grace without a single separate ritual for Him. This is their relationship: the Deva Senadhipati who protects the Kshetra, drenched by His mother's own sacred water.

The Mission Structure

The Kaliputra Mission is open to everyone. Its core purpose:

The path forward has a clear timeline:

When the Ashta Dhatu Vigraham is placed in the public Garbhagriha, it will be open to all who wish to come. Later, when the time is right, the original Moola Vigraham will be placed in a separate, inner Garbhagriha within the same complex โ€” accessible only to those who have done the proper Sadhana, who have completed the Adya Kali Upasana Vidhi that takes eleven months of Deva Prashna to establish.

No Money Buys Entry

The message is absolute and final: no amount of money, status, fame, or power will ever buy access to Her inner Garbhagriha.

When the body is placed on the Smashana and the Sahasrara cracks open โ€” Phat! โ€” there is no identity left. No powerful houses. No powerful cars. Nothing. At that moment, the first name of Kalika โ€” Smashana Kali โ€” smiles at you and asks: "Do you realize? Do you realize that all of that was nothing?"

The inner sanctum is only for those who realize this before they reach the Smashana. For those who walk in through Sadhana, not through wealth.

Conclusion

The Kaliputra Mission is not a five-year plan. It is a two-thousand-year legacy โ€” a Sampradaya built root by root, algorithm by algorithm, from the ground up, the way Shanishwara demands: from scratch, with blood, with sincerity, with no shortcuts. Not from a studio. Not from borrowed fame.

A community of Kali Sadhakas so bound to each other that the first call in a moment of crisis is not to a relative, but to a sister or brother of the Mission. That is what is being built.
