Interviewer: Greetings, Gurudev.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Greetings, son. Tell me.
Interviewer: Gurudev, we have seen a great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. We don't know much about this. If you could tell us about it, we would be able to learn more.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: This is an astronomical and celestial event. It has happened after a long time and will happen again. This occurs from time to time. You might not have seen it in your lifetime before, but you are seeing it now. The transit of Saturn and Jupiter is good. However, Saturn is quite far above, and Jupiter is below. They are leagues apart. From an astronomical perspective, a conjunction has occurred between Jupiter and Saturn. When Jupiter and Saturn transit or exchange influences, there is a strong possibility of storms and rain. This is a rule. When Saturn's gaze falls on Jupiter, or Jupiter's gaze falls on Saturn, we anticipate storms and rain. Apart from that, the Jupiter-Saturn transit is very good for the world. This event occurred just before the start of 2021, which surprised me. Does it signal that good days are coming? Is 2021 going to be a good year? This is an indication of that. Because now, the other planets will also become stronger by their grace. When Saturn comes near Jupiter, since Jupiter is the teacher of the gods (Devguru), Saturn will approach with a bowed head. Saturn's influence will not prevail because Jupiter's gaze is upon it. Jupiter is above us, above the Earth, and he absorbs all the negative things. When Saturn comes near Jupiter, Saturn's power decreases significantly, and the power of other planets increases. Thinking about this celestial event, I can say that 2021 presents a good opportunity. A better time will come, without a doubt. The other planets will become stronger. Saturn will have no negative influence; it will bow its head before Jupiter. Since Jupiter is the Devguru, when Saturn approaches, its power will be diminished. Saturn is pure as crystal and has no flaws. He is equivalent to Lord Shiva.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Let me tell you the story of Saturn's birth, then you will understand. Once, the Sun's wife, Sarvani, requested the Sun to let her visit her father's house. The Sun told her not to go then, but to go later. But Sarvani, without listening, left her shadow (Chhaya) behind and went to her father's house. No one knew this, not even the Sun. From the union with that shadow, Saturn was born. That is why it is said, "Chhayaya Garbhasambhutam Tam Namami Shanaishcharam" (I bow to Saturn, born from the womb of Chhaya). Because Saturn was born from a shadow, he had no affection or compassion. From childhood, he was a Dhyanyogi (meditative yogi). Seeing him like this, the Sun's associates said, "Saturn is growing up and is very absent-minded. You should educate him." The Sun said, "How can I educate him? He is a Dhyanyogi." But they insisted that he must be educated. So, the Sun appointed a teacher who taught the sons of kings. Saturn began to grow up, but he remained meditative. I don't know how much he learned, but he remained meditative and pure. After Saturn grew up, the teacher said, "Saturn, you have grown up, and your education is complete. I have taught you everything I know. You have become a great scholar. You may leave. But there is one thing: your gaze (Drishti) will soon fall upon me. I have heard that your gaze causes great harm. If you could tell me what to do, it would be good." Saturn said, "Teacher, go to the banks of the Ganges and chant Narayana's name for ten dandas (a unit of time). Then this period will pass." Saturn believed in Narayana, and whenever he punished someone, he did it with Narayana in mind.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: However, after Saturn told him this, the teacher went to the Ganges and meditated for eight dandas instead of ten. Saturn influenced him to stop early. The teacher thought he had done ten, but it was only eight. Saturn then told Narayana, "I told my teacher to meditate for ten dandas, but he only did eight. I must punish him." At that time, the king's sons came to study. There were two twin sons. Saturn abducted them and, using his powers, created two fake heads and placed them in front of the teacher's house. When the king didn't see his sons returning, he became anxious. He sent guards, but they found nothing. Then the king and queen came running and, seeing the heads, they broke down in tears. They said to the teacher, "We sent our sons to study with you, and you killed them?" The king ordered the teacher to be imprisoned and executed. The teacher was crying in jail, though he was innocent. But because Saturn's gaze had fallen on him, he suffered. Then Saturn appeared and said, "Teacher, I told you to meditate for ten dandas, but you only did eight. You must suffer this consequence. But I am blessing you; no permanent harm will come to you." When Saturn touches someone, they do not die. Saturn then appeared in the king's dream and said, "Your sons are safe. I had abducted them and placed fake heads there. Go and get your sons back." The king got his sons back and immediately ordered the teacher's release. He realized the teacher was innocent and that it was Saturn's play.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Saturn does not kill anyone; he only makes them go through trials. When Saturn's influence falls on someone, they face great hardship, but he also returns what he takes. Saturn is like an ocean; whatever he takes, he returns in full. Later, everyone suggested that Saturn should get married. So, the Sun arranged a marriage for him. But Saturn never consummated the marriage; he remained in meditation. This caused his wife great sorrow. She felt that although she was married to a great being, he never even touched her or spoke to her. In her sorrow and on her deathbed, she called her father-in-law, the Sun, and asked to see Saturn one last time. When Saturn came, she cursed him: "Since you married me but never touched me, I curse you that you will be worshiped in the streets. Whoever eats your offerings must bathe and cleanse themselves before going home." That is why Saturn is worshiped in the streets, and people must bathe after his worship. Saturn's mount is the vulture (shokun). He is best worshiped in desolate places or cremation grounds where vultures are found. Saturn's gaze is powerful; whatever he looks at with a negative intent can be destroyed. This is the story of Saturn's birth and his nature. So, when Saturn comes near Jupiter, our Devguru, he will bow his head. Other planets will become stronger, and 2021 will be a better year. This celestial event indicates that although there might be some storms and rain, 2021 will be good.
Interviewer: I have listened, Gurudev, to what you said about the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, and about Lord Saturn's birth. It was very enlightening. My respects to you.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Blessings to you, son.

Spiritual Insight

The great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn represents the meeting of the Devguru (teacher of the gods) with the stern taskmaster of karma. When Saturn bows before Jupiter, it signifies that even the most challenging karmic influences must yield to divine wisdom. Saturn's birth from the shadow (Chhaya) explains his detached, meditative nature—he gives neither affection nor compassion, only pure justice. Yet his justice is always fair: what he takes, he returns. The story of his teacher demonstrates that Saturn's punishments are precise and purposeful, designed to teach rather than destroy. When this planetary alignment occurs, it marks a time when wisdom prevails over hardship, and the world moves toward a period of growth and positivity.
