COMPANION:
Pranam, Gurudev.
GURUDEV:
Stay well.
COMPANION:
Gurudev, someone has come to see you today from quite a distance. Let's get to know him and hear how he found out about this place and what brought him all this way.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
Namaste, my name is Tapash Chowdhury. I have come from Malda. I first got in touch with Baba through YouTube. I came here from Malda specifically to seek his presence and blessings.
COMPANION:
So, you found out about Baba entirely through YouTube?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
Yes, I learned about him and understood his work through YouTube.
COMPANION:
Had you spoken to him before coming here?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
No, not at all.
COMPANION:
Then how did you make such a long journey?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I just prayed in my heart that if I could go to Baba, I would receive his blessings. With that hope and devotion, I came here, and I have now received his presence. I am hopeful that I will recover very soon. I have been bedridden for the last 12 years. I have a deep belief that with Baba's blessings, I will return to a healthy life.
COMPANION:
Pranam. Gurudev, we have seen people come to you from very far away before, even from abroad. But this is a rare moment, especially given how difficult the current situation has become. How did you manage the journey?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I came solely for Baba's grace. I traveled from Malda to Sealdah by train, and from there, I took a bike taxi to get here.
COMPANION:
From Sealdah by bike taxi? How did you find the address?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I found it on YouTube. Baba had mentioned Shantikunja, Sonarpur Rajpur Smashan (cremation ground). There was a number provided as well. I tried calling, but it was unreachable for some reason. Still, I didn't want to disturb Baba, so I gathered the courage in my heart and decided to come.
COMPANION:
Did you leave home today?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
We left yesterday and arrived this morning. We came directly from Sealdah to this crematorium.
COMPANION:
Gurudev, he is very hopeful and has traveled a long way to see you. You know better than anyone how he managed to get here.
GURUDEV:
Everything happens by the grace of the Mother. What can I say? I can only offer my blessings and the things given for the ritual. I hope he gets well. Many others have come here and recovered. There is no problem. I pray to the Mother that she heals him.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I have full faith that I will return to a healthy life.
GURUDEV:
That is the truth. Many people come from far away. We are witnesses to it. You know the pull of the Mother and Gurudev.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I spent the whole journey remembering Baba. Only he knows how he brought me here. I couldn't have come on my own; he brought me.
GURUDEV:
Yes, only he knows. Many people have come, received treatment in the Mother's name, and returned home healthy. I do everything in Her name. I pray that he also recovers.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I must get well. I have deep faith.
COMPANION:
We have seen this at Shantikunja for a long time. There was a brief pause, but things have started again. We hope you return here healthy and walk on your own feet next time. We pray that Baba's grace and blessings reach everyone.
GURUDEV:
It is now almost 8:00 PM as we film this. We've heard Tapash's experience and Gurudev's words.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I didn't come alone; these two brothers helped me. They carried me and helped me onto the train. It wouldn't have been possible for me otherwise.
COMPANION:
(To the companions) Where are you from and why did you come with him?
COMPANION 2:
I am his brother. We came because of faith.
GURUDEV:
Faith is the most important thing. If he has the belief that he will get well, he will. There is no doubt about it. If one has faith in the Mother and surrenders to Baba, the Supreme Soul will take care of his child.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I have surrendered my soul to the Supreme Soul.
GURUDEV:
If you have absolute faith, the Mother will heal you. Devotion, faith, and surrender are what are needed. Money doesn't matter here; only faith does. You will recover.
COMPANION:
This is an example for all of us who make excuses for small things. This man suddenly became bedridden after a fall in the bathroom.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
It has been 12 years. Doctors across India—from Kolkata's AMRI and Apollo to CMC Vellore—have told me that medical science is not yet advanced enough to treat my condition. They told me to seek divine help. Only something beyond science, only God, can heal me now.
GURUDEV:
Even the doctors said that?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
Yes, they said I should seek God's refuge.
GURUDEV:
There is an unseen power that guides us. Surrender yourself and keep your faith. Many have been cured, even of incurable diseases like cancer. A doctor once came here with lung cancer. Today, he says he is well and the cancer is gone. He visits us occasionally. We performed a Yagna (sacrificial fire ritual) for him, and he is doing very well now.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
If I get well, it will be my second life. The first was given by my parents, and the second will be thanks to Baba and Mother Bam-Tara.
COMPANION:
As Gurudev said, faith is the key. You have already passed the first test by coming all this way. The rest is the Mother's will.
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I am like a beggar at the Mother's door. I have nothing of my own. She is the one who keeps me breathing. I have come to her for alms—the gift of health. She is the ocean of mercy and will surely have compassion for her child.
GURUDEV:
She definitely will. Why wouldn't she?
TAPASH CHOWDHURY:
I have a firm belief that if she looks upon me with mercy just once, I will be healed. I want to take her blessings and embrace her. I am her child, and she will surely hold me to her heart.
COMPANION:
We end this video here. Pranam, Gurudev.
GURUDEV:
Stay well.
