Disciple:
Friends, Gurudev has warned and saved the people of this world many times in various ways. We are witnesses to this; we have seen it ourselves. He once spoke of a "Khanda Pralaya" (a partial cataclysm). Perhaps that cataclysm has already occurred. May the world once again become lush, fertile, and green after this disaster. Currently, at Shantikunj, Gurudev and a disciple are performing a Homa (sacrificial fire ritual).
Disciple:
Gurudev, what is the purpose of this Homa today?
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
Today is Amavasya (the New Moon). Actually, it started last night. Today is specifically the day for Phalguni Kali Puja. While we don't celebrate Kali Puja in the traditional way here, we always perform Homa and Yajna on this day. This is because the spiritual fruits obtained from a Yajna are much greater than those from a standard Puja.
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
We have started the ritual, but my heart is very heavy and restless. So much damage has occurred, and so many people have suffered. I keep asking the Almighty—Father, why are You allowing so much destruction? I understand that the Divine is displeased, but surely there is a place for forgiveness. I keep praying to the Mother and to Mahamrityunjaya (Lord Shiva).
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
Fortunately, there wasn't a massive loss of life. Our government has worked very hard to ensure that lives were saved. To be honest, this was a catastrophe of such magnitude—what more can I say? The government did its best. The few lives that were lost were mostly due to people's own negligence.
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
Not everyone's home was sturdy, which led to many difficulties. No one could have imagined it would be this severe. Even I didn't realize it would reach this extent. I kept saying a "storm" (Kanthal) was coming, but I didn't anticipate such a total cataclysm. Every house has been affected. News is coming in from everywhere—destruction, destruction, and more destruction.
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
This is Nature's game; she is playing her part. But I noticed two very significant things. First, the roaring of the Royal Bengal tigers in the Sundarbans—I don't like the sound of that. The tigers are roaming out in the open, and the sound of their roaring is terrifying. I haven't heard it personally, but a gentleman played a recording for me from there.
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
The second thing happened at the sea in Puri. Huge quantities of fish—tonnes of them—are being washed ashore with every wave. People can't even finish gathering them; there are so many. Only God knows where they are coming from.
Disciple:
Gurudev, has the partial cataclysm ended, or is there more to come?
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
It hasn't ended yet, my son. I am very worried; it isn't over. Look, even when the storm was raging, people were sweating profusely. The heat didn't decrease even for a moment. Usually, during a storm or rain, it gets cool. But the wind we felt was a hot wind. This indicates one thing: the ocean floor has become heated.
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
Usually, the sea releases cool air and draws in hot air, but the opposite is happening now. The seabed is hot. I can't understand why the fish are coming to the shore like this. With every wave in Puri, tonnes of fish are being thrown out. People are stunned. Does this mean the fish knew beforehand that a cataclysm was coming? Perhaps there is an underwater volcano or a massive earthquake triggered in the ocean that could lead to a tsunami. I cannot say for sure what will happen, but these indications do not feel right to me.
Gurudev Shyama Khapa:
I still don't understand why the ocean floor has become so hot. Everything is affected—from the sun to every element of nature. I am quite afraid of what is left to come. The entire world is already under lockdown. How will people survive? I am praying day and night and performing these rituals. I am doing whatever I can to bring some good, but I don't know what lies ahead. I am very disturbed.
Disciple:
Friends, once again for the sake of world peace, Gurudev and his dear disciple have sat for the Homa on behalf of Shantikunj. Let us observe the ritual. Stay with us.
