Devotee:
Greetings, Gurudev.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
Greetings to you too, son. Tell me.
Devotee:
Today, I want to learn something from you that might seem unrealistic or supernatural to many. We have heard and known that Ma Tara once fell ill. Is this true?
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
It is absolutely true. Once, Ma fell ill, and Bama Deb (a famous saint) was at his wit's end. He realized through his yogic power that Ma was unwell. He didn't know what to do at first. Then, he gathered some leaves and vines—I know about this—and made a sort of herbal tonic. He offered it to her, saying, "Drink this, Ma, you will get better." Usually, high-level saints can sense these things. Not only that, but they also get extremely anxious, as Bama Deb did. He feared that since Ma was unwell, she might even pass away. That was his sentiment. They treat Ma in that way and look at her in that light. For him, if Ma Tara passed away, it would be the end of him too. This happens with high-level saints. You might have seen that in the Jagannath Temple in Puri, when the Lord falls ill, he is given pots of herbal tonic. But that happens on a specific day. In Ma’s case, it wasn't like that. Gurudev suddenly saw through his yogic power that Ma was very sick and everything was becoming chaotic. So, he collected those leaves and vines, made a tonic, and gave it to Ma, saying she would get better. These might sound like stories now, and no one knows for sure if they are true or false, but it is a fact that Ma falls ill. And I am telling you, as a Tantric, it is possible to make Ma unwell. Someone can do it with just a single strand
