Guru:
I have initiated him. It was truly necessary. He meditates and chants a great deal, but he eventually realized that nothing can be achieved without a guru. That is why he came to me. I sensed his need for initiation and granted it. Now, he will continue his work.
Guru:
His profession is medicine; he is a doctor. Yet, at night, he dedicates himself to meditation and chanting. He has even seen me through his meditations once or twice. He can explain that part better himself. I have given him initiation, and now you may ask him about his experience.
Interviewer:
Bowing to Mother Tara and thanking you, Doctor, for being here with us today. You have traveled all the way from Jalpaiguri. It would be wonderful if you could share a bit about your connection with Gurudev and your personal experiences.
Doctor:
I work as a surgeon in a hospital in Jalpaiguri. I have been on a spiritual path for a long time, practicing chanting and meditation, especially devoted to the Mother (Goddess). I feel I have received a lot through her grace, including my success in my medical studies.
Doctor:
When I was preparing for my surgery exams, the Mother appeared to me in a dream. she told me I would be successful and even specified that I would study at PG Hospital. Everything happened exactly as she said. After completing my MS in surgery, I was posted to North Bengal.
Doctor:
However, after the COVID-19 pandemic began, I started reflecting deeply on the value of life. People were dying so suddenly, and it made me feel that if I didn't find God or the Mother, what was the point of this life? I began to meditate more intensely. During one such meditation, I received a message that I must find a guru. I saw a glimpse of Gurudev's face in a dream. Later, I saw one of his videos on YouTube and realized he was the one. After seeking guidance in my meditation again, the Mother confirmed he was my guru. Recently, he appeared in my dream and told me, "Son, you should come." That solidified my decision to come here.
Guru:
It makes me very happy to see this. What is the value of our lives without spiritual connection? Today, science often fails, and in those moments, spirituality is the only path that offers peace.
Guru:
It is wonderful that even as a man of science and a doctor, you recognize that there is no way forward without God. I have great respect for doctors. We often say "Doctor" (meaning one who is called); when he calls, we go. To us, doctors are the first manifestation of God. If I have a physical ailment, I don't go to the temple first; I go to the doctor. After the doctor treats me, then comes the role of God.
Guru:
It pained me deeply to hear about incidents where doctors were harassed or attacked. What is the point of that? If doctors are not there, what will happen to society? We must give them the same respect and love we give to God.
Interviewer:
Doctor, as we move through different phases of the pandemic, there is a lot of talk about a "Third Wave" and the "Delta Plus" variant. I saw in the news today that the whole country is concerned. Could you share your perspective on this?
Doctor:
Yes, it is certainly a matter of concern. Globally, there is a fear regarding the Delta Plus variant, particularly its potential impact on children.
Doctor:
However, if we look at the other side, we can manage this if we prioritize vaccination. Everyone must complete both doses. If we strictly follow the protocols—wearing masks properly, using sanitizers, and maintaining physical distance—we can stop the spread.
Doctor:
During the second wave, many people became complacent after the first wave subsided, thinking it was over. Even the administration was somewhat relaxed, and we paid a heavy price for that. My request to everyone is to stay vigilant, follow all COVID protocols, and ensure you get vaccinated. With these steps, we can hope for a COVID-free world in the near future.
Interviewer:
Thank you, Gurudev. Thank you, Doctor. With a bow to Mother Tara and to both of you, we conclude this segment.
