I'm from Thakurpukur. I couldn't see with either of my eyes. It was a severe case of cataracts. When I came here the last two times, I couldn't see anything at all. I bowed to Baba (Gurudev), but I couldn't see Mother. I prayed to Mother and told Baba about my condition. Then I went home.
Devotee:
Baba told me to change my doctor. So, I went to Sankara Nethralaya and saw a new doctor. He said I needed an operation immediately. Interestingly, my previous doctor had been giving me medicine for six months but never mentioned surgery. This was all by Baba's grace. I was spending thousands on medicine for my cataracts, and I felt like my life was over.
Devotee:
But then I had the operation. Baba told me, "You will see." I told him, "Baba, I want to be initiated (diksha) by you." He said, "Wait, first see with your eyes, then you can have initiation." Today, I can see everything with these two eyes. I can see Baba!
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
That's wonderful. It's a matter of great joy.
Devotee:
My only wish now is to be initiated by Baba. I don't want to be reborn, but if I am, I want a Guru like him every time. I want nothing else from this world-no money, no jewelry, nothing. I just want to pass away before my husband. That's all I ask for.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
I will grant you that blessing. It's such a joy that you can see. That is what makes me happy. I actually feel like crying myself.

Viewers, as you can see, there are tears of joy in Gurudev's eyes. She is completely healthy now and can see well. She has come to meet Gurudev.

Well, she came to me and couldn't see. She was crying, saying she couldn't see me or Mother. She had to be led by the hand. I told her, "You will see." I performed a spiritual act on her eyes and told her to change her doctor. After she changed doctors, they recommended surgery. She had the operation and now she is perfectly fine. She can see. It feels good when someone's darkness is removed.
Guru Shyama Khyapa:
There was another girl with a similar story. I cried for her too. She couldn't see and I helped her. When she finally saw, she came and hugged me with so much love, saying it was like a new life.
Devotee:
That's exactly how I feel, Baba! When I first regained consciousness after the operation, I felt like I was reborn. I told my family that from now on, we would celebrate my "birthday" on this day.
