Narrator: Greetings to all. Greetings to the viewers. We are recording a new episode today. Shantanu is sitting here; he is a disciple of the Guru. You might have seen him in previous episodes discussing various topics. Today, the topic he will discuss is "Birth Chart Analysis" (Janmachak Vishleshan). I would first like to ask the Guru to shed some light on this, and then Shantanu will elaborate.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Yes. Shantanu, speak about the birth chart. When a person is born, a chart is created. There is the Abakahara Chakra, the Navatara Chakra, the Mamatara Chakra—there are many elements. It would be good if you could shed some light on this. Please, go ahead.
Shantanu: To analyze our birth chart, first and foremost, we must look at the time, the date, and the day of the week we were born. If we look at the first page of the birth chart, it is titled the Abakahara Chakra. To analyze this, we must understand the first page thoroughly. Without looking at the first page, we cannot move forward.
Shantanu: In the first page, the Abakahara Chakra, we must look at the Panchang. Our Panchang consists of: Day (Baar), Nakshatra, Yoga, Tithi, and Karana.
Shantanu: "Day" means which day of the week we were born. "Karana" refers to the "cause of birth." Why is it the cause of birth? A Tithi (lunar day) is formed within every 12-degree difference between the positions of the Sun and the Moon. In our birth charts, we find two types of Tithis: starting from the first day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) until the 14th day followed by the Full Moon (Purnima); then the Krishna Paksha (waning moon) begins from the first day until the 14th day followed by the New Moon (Amavasya). These Tithis pass through our birth charts.
Shantanu: As I mentioned, a Tithi is formed within a 12-degree position between the Sun and Moon. Half of a Tithi is a "Karana." So, if a Tithi is 12 degrees, a Karana is 6 degrees. First, we must see if the energy of the Tithi we were born under matches the energy of our Karana. If the energy of the Karana doesn't match, we will face many obstacles and difficulties in our life's journey and progress. Various illnesses and health issues may arise, preventing us from moving forward.
Shantanu: Therefore, Tithi and Karana are vital parts of the birth chart. We have 11 Karanas, and each is ruled by a specific planet. We must see where that planet is positioned in our chart.
Shantanu: After the Day, Tithi, and Karana, we look at the Yoga. There are 27 Nakshatras and 27 Yogas. The Yoga we are born under is a very significant part of the chart that must be considered.
Shantanu: Then we come to the Birth Nakshatra. Each Nakshatra has four Charanas (parts/quarters). These Charanas are determined by the Moon's position relative to the Sun. We must see which Charana the Moon is in—1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.
Shantanu: Think of it like the sun: Mridu (Gentle) when the sun is rising; Tivra (Intense) when the sun has risen further; Tejomaya (Glorious/Radiant) after 12 PM when the sun is at its peak intensity; Astogata (Setting) when the sun is gradually setting.
Shantanu: Our character is influenced by these four quarters of the Nakshatra. If born in the Tejomaya quarter, one will have an intense, fiery nature. If in the Mridu quarter, one will have a gentle nature. If in the Astogata quarter, the influence fades as if disappearing. This must be understood.
Shantanu: Furthermore, Nakshatras are categorized by four "metals" or elements: Gold (Swarna), Silver (Raupya), Copper (Tamra), and Iron (Lauha). We must see which element our Nakshatra falls under based on the Moon's position. Gold is ruled by Jupiter, Silver by the Moon, Copper by Mars, and Iron by Saturn. Thus, the energy of the Nakshatra is divided. We must see which energy level we fall into—1, 2, 3, or 4.
Shantanu: Next, we look at the Atmakaraka planet and the Amatyakaraka planet. The Atmakaraka represents the soul's purpose in this life, and the Amatyakaraka is the planet that supports the Atmakaraka in its journey through one's actions (Karma).
Shantanu: After that, we analyze the Lagna (Ascendant) chart. We look at the degree of the Moon and the Nakshatra. Our birth chart consists of 12 zodiac signs from Aries to Pisces, totaling 360 degrees, with each sign being 30 degrees. Our nine planets (including Rahu and Ketu) are positioned within these 30-degree segments.
Shantanu: There are different states: Rising Degrees, ruled by Jupiter, Mars, and the Sun; Neutral Degrees, ruled by Mercury and Venus; Nighttime/Setting Degrees, ruled by Saturn, the Moon, Rahu, and Ketu. We must see at what degree and state the planets are placed in the Lagna chart. Then we move to the Navamsa chart, the Dasamsa chart (for career), and the Bhav (House) chart.
Shantanu: Much later, we look at the Dasha and Antardasha (planetary periods). If we calculate the Mahadasha starting from the Sun, they follow a sequence: Sun 6 years, Moon 10 years, Mars 7 years, Rahu 18 years, Jupiter 16 years, Saturn 19 years, Venus 20 years, Mercury 17 years, Ketu 7 years.
Shantanu: We must see which Dasha you are currently experiencing and which "Star" (Tara) the planet is passing through in the Navatara Chakra: Janma (Birth), Sampad (Wealth), Vipad (Danger), Kshem (Well-being), Pratyari (Opposition), Sadhak (Achievement), Badh (Destruction), Mitra (Friend), or Ati-mitra (Great Friend).
Shantanu: If a planet passes through the Badh star during its 7, 18, or 16-year period, you will not get good results; that planet will "strike" or hinder you. Similarly, if it passes through the Pratyari star, many enemies will be created. For example, if Mars passes through the Pratyari star for 7 years, you will face many enemies.
Shantanu: Next, we look at the Sannari Chakra, which categorizes Nakshatras into: Janma (Birth), Karma (Action), Binash (Destruction), Sanghatik (Disruptive), Samuday (Collective), and Manash (Mental). We must analyze which Nakshatra the planets are passing through in this chakra.
Shantanu: I am mentioning the Navatara and Sannari chakras because they explain why you might be spending time in sorrow, joy, illness, or distress. Calculating the current Dasha is a vital part of the analysis. Total calculation is based on the Nakshatras; this is what the Abakahara Chakra on the first page explains.
Shantanu: To give an example: to build a house, whether it's four or five stories, the foundation (Vheet) must be strong. If the foundation isn't strong, the house won't stand long. The birth chart is the same. If the foundation—the Karana, Tithi, Day, Nakshatra, and Yoga (the five parts of the Panchang)—is weak, then no matter how well-positioned or strong the planets are, the chart will not yield good results, and one will suffer throughout life.
Shantanu: We also analyze marriage, education, and career progress from this first page. It tells us if one will be born into a large, small, or poor family. Then we move to Nakshatra calculations and planetary periods, finishing with the Lagna, Vardh, Navamsa, Dasamsa, and Bhav charts.
Shantanu: I hope this video clears up misconceptions about the Abakahara Chakra. Just as you should have some knowledge about a disease before going to a doctor, you should understand the nine planets in astrology. If you don't understand, you will ultimately be cheated by astrologers. You won't be able to solve anything. You should be able to ask an astrologer: "Give me a graph of my life. Explain my Karana, Tithi, Nakshatra, Day, and Yoga." Only then will you truly understand.
Shantanu: One thing I forgot to mention is the Pancha Mahabhuta (Five Elements) theory. Among our 12 zodiac signs, we must see which element our Lagna or Sign falls under: Fire (Agni), Earth (Prithvi), Air (Vayu), or Water (Jal). Element consideration is a vital part. I hope this video helps you understand the Abakahara Chakra better. Guru, would you like to say something to the viewers?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: What can I say? You have spoken correctly. This is a very complex theory. It is a very deep and difficult science (Shastra). It's hard for common people to grasp. I have seen many people consult palmists, and I have studied this as well. But we don't look at it quite as deeply as this; by the Mother's grace, I don't need to look that far. By the Guru's grace, what I say is final. People won't be able to know all this on their own, but they need to know a little so they aren't misled. If someone misguides you, having a little knowledge prevents that.
Shantanu: Yes, please learn a little about this so when you go to an astrologer, you can ask for a life graph instead of just hearing about "cutting" the effects of Saturn or Mars. Ask them to explain your Karana, Tithi, and Yoga. That is how you will understand.
Narrator: Dear viewers, you have heard the discussion. I cannot add much as my knowledge in this field is limited. We will discuss another topic in the next episode. Stay healthy and well. Greetings, Guru.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Greetings. Greetings.
