Speaker 1: Yes, Maharaj has arrived... all the way from Pushkar. We have spoken many times over the phone. He told me that if he ever visited Kolkata, he would definitely come to see me. True to his word, he has come to our place today. He has come directly to my home. Now, he will visit the prayer room and then head to the crematorium. Maharaj, please tell us your name and where you are from.
Speaker 2: I am Swami Jaynathananda, from the Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Pushkar. In this dark age of Kali Yuga, it is rare to find a great soul like you. I had heard about you long ago, and to seek your company, I have come to your home today. I am blessed to have met you and have a few questions to ask...
Speaker 1: Speaker 2: Swami Jaynathananda, from Pushkar.
Speaker 1: It's wonderful. You have become a Swami at such a young age and are serving in Pushkar. I had heard about this. I often send people to Pushkar, especially in cases of accidental deaths—those who die in accidents or by fire. These souls often struggle to find peace. According to our scriptures and traditions, if Pindadaan (funeral offerings) is performed in Pushkar, the soul is liberated and can be reborn. Gaya does not accept suicide cases for Pindadaan. In Gaya, Pindadaan is generally for those who died of natural causes.
Speaker 2: Yes, Gaya is for general cases, but for suicide cases, Pushkar is the primary place.
Speaker 1: Exactly. For all suicide cases, we send people to Pushkar. You have done so much work for our people; you've helped many.
Speaker 2: Many Bengalis, in particular, do not know that they should go to Pushkar for these matters.
Speaker 1: Many don't know. They often ask me where Pushkar is and what to do. Actually, many are unaware. But those I inform do go there. Many have already gone. As you know, I have sent many of my followers. For example, a young man who died in a motorbike accident—I sent his family to you. Similarly, for those who died by fire or committed suicide, Pushkar is the best place. It is the land of Lord Brahma. Performing Pindadaan there, I believe, liberates the soul and allows for rebirth. You can explain better how you conduct these services. Please explain it to the people.
Speaker 2: There are pandas (priests) everywhere. But among them, there is a severe lack of people who perform the rituals correctly. Correct chanting of mantras and the proper execution of Karmakanda (religious rituals) is very rare. Out of a hundred priests, we might select only one or two who are truly capable of performing the task properly. Nowadays, everything has become about money. The same ritual might be performed by someone who knows nothing for 50,000 rupees, while someone who actually knows the scriptures might do it for 5,000 rupees.
Speaker 1: I know how you work. If we can get a name registered with Bharat Sevashram Sangha or take a letter from them, the Pindadaan can be done comfortably and at a very low cost.
Speaker 2: We receive all kinds of people—from rickshaw pullers to the ultra-wealthy and industrialists. But our focus is not on the money; it is on the work itself. People often say, "Maharaj, take as much money as needed, but make sure the work is done right." I have seen many pandas who don't even know the Gayatri Mantra properly. We have to judge carefully and ensure that the right person is doing the job. Everything is happening by the grace and will of the Guru. In this Kali Yuga, doing a job honestly is a challenge.
Speaker 1: Coming into contact with good people is also very difficult. Some people go elsewhere, spend a lot of money, but return unhappy. They don't find mental peace. We feel at peace knowing that if we send people to Bharat Sevashram Sangha, there will be no cheating or exploitation. The work will be done beautifully. That is why I repeatedly tell my followers to go to Pushkar. For those who have met an untimely or self-inflicted end, I tell them: go to Pushkar, perform the rituals, and the soul will be liberated.
Speaker 2: Yes, that is how it's going. We are happy to be of service to the people.
Speaker 1: We want you to keep coming. We mention your name often and send people to you. I have full faith that you will not deceive anyone. Bharat Sevashram Sangha does not cheat; they don't overcharge, and they do the work properly. For these three reasons, I have sent many people to you. You know that yourself. Then we connected over the phone, and you said you would visit. You invited me to come as well. I will definitely go. The environment there is truly beautiful. Unfortunately, some outsiders are starting to ruin the atmosphere lately, but the local people are very good. And as for you, there are no questions—you are a Maharaj. It was a pleasure meeting you. Stay well. I will continue to recommend people to you, as many are suffering and seeking peace for the souls of their loved ones.
Speaker 2: It involves a lot of expenses and travel.
Speaker 1: Yes, traveling to and from there is a big factor. Unlike Gaya, where you can go and return quickly, Pushkar takes at least five to six days.
Speaker 2: It takes two days just to get there and two days back. That's four days, plus two days for the rituals. It's a week-long commitment.
Speaker 1: Regardless, I offer my respectful salutations to you for doing this work. It is for the welfare of the people. It's a matter of good fortune for them.
Speaker 2: We are happy to stand by the people. That is what matters.
Speaker 1: Correct. Well then, thank you.

Spiritual Insight

This meeting highlights the vital spiritual service provided by the Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Pushkar, particularly for souls who died by suicide, accident, or fire. Unlike Gaya, which accepts only natural deaths for Pindadaan (funeral offerings), Pushkar—the sacred land of Lord Brahma—offers liberation for troubled souls who met untimely ends. Gurudev emphasizes that many Bengalis remain unaware of this important distinction, often struggling to find peace for their departed loved ones. Swami Jaynathananda explains the sad reality that out of a hundred priests, only one or two may truly know the correct mantras and rituals (Karmakanda). While others charge exorbitant fees (50,000 rupees) for hollow ceremonies, the Bharat Sevashram Sangha maintains integrity—focusing not on money but on the sacred work itself. For those seeking genuine solace for souls lost to motorbike accidents, fire, or suicide, Gurudev repeatedly recommends this seven-day journey to Pushkar as the path to true liberation and rebirth.
