Narrator: Gurudev initiated the devotees from Bangladesh.
Associate: Yes, they have come from Bangladesh to receive initiation (diksha). The initiation is complete. Ask them why they have come. Yes, tell us why you came.
Devotee (Man): We have come to touch the feet of the Guru and to receive initiation (diksha) and instruction (shiksha) from him. So that following his guidance and the right path he shows, we can spend the rest of our lives serving the Guru, or by following the correct path shown by him, we can live in society and progress on the path of religion. May we be able to benefit people, and not cause harm or pain to anyone's heart. If we unknowingly commit any wrong, we seek forgiveness from God or our Guru.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Yes, they are saying one thing: initiation is done, now give us the instruction. What do I mean by instruction? Instruction means living honestly and purely. To live honestly and purely—that is instruction. Initiation was given in the name of the Mother, and I say instruction is to live honestly and purely. Behave as saints do, live as they do. Do not deceive people, do not mislead them, and do not behave dishonestly toward others—this is instruction. Maintain these principles properly. Work hard honestly and maintain a virtuous mindset; I say this repeatedly—this is instruction. Initiation is a matter of God, and it has already happened. (To the woman) You say something.
Devotee (Woman): Namaskar. I had a great desire to receive the initiation mantra from Baba, and today that desire has been fulfilled. Having received the mantra from Baba, I am very, very happy. I feel very good. I want to live honestly throughout my life and never go down the wrong path. My only request to the Guru is that he blesses me so that I never wander onto the wrong path. May I live a happy domestic life with my husband and children, and remain a servant at the feet of God and the Guru for the rest of my life. This is all I want. Domestic life is a great virtue.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Yes, do that. Do that. There is no point just staying at the Guru's feet. The real matter is to live honestly and purely, to stay well, always remember God, and keep God close to you—that is enough; there is no need for anything more. You are householders; what can householders do? Can you live in the cremation grounds like us? Can you perform sacrificial rituals (hom-yagna) in the cremation grounds? No, you cannot. What you can do as householders is always remember God. Call upon God. I can tell you this much—God exists. If you call Him properly, you will find Him. You might not see Him, but He will walk beside you as a friend. He will stay by your side as a friend and help you without you even knowing it. He will stay by your side and do much for you, but you won't realize it. This is the law. Common people do not understand this; they ask, "Why didn't it happen to me?" That is not the point. Actually, after taking initiation, one must also take the instruction. He told me, "Give me the instruction. You gave initiation, now give the instruction." It is true; he said a good thing—simply taking initiation is not enough; one must also take the instruction. And instruction is nothing else but living honestly and purely. Do not deceive people, work hard honestly, earn money honestly, and live honestly—this is what we say repeatedly. This is our instruction. Is that clear? There is nothing above this.
Associate: Where do you live?
Devotee (Man): I live in Notun Bazar, Barisal, Bangladesh.
Associate: He lives in Barisal, Bangladesh. He came from there, is receiving initiation, and is leaving.
Devotee (Man): Both initiation and instruction.
Associate: He is taking both and going back to Bangladesh. He came from Bangladesh and stayed here for eight or nine days for this initiation. Today it happened, and now he will return to Barisal, Bangladesh. Let it be; let him go. There is no problem. I gave both initiation and instruction. Alright, there is no problem.
