Disciple: Greetings, Gurudev. Many people come to you with various problems. Among them, several mention that they have been "hit with a ban" (a ritualistic curse or black magic). What exactly is this? We've heard about it from many people, and some have come to you in terrible conditions. Please tell us more about this.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Ah, "Ban Mara." To be honest, in this day and age, I didn't used to believe in it. We live in an age of science, and there's no scientific basis for such things. People would come to me and say, "I've been hit with a ban; I can't even get out of bed. I need help just to go to the bathroom. I'm completely bedridden." I used to wonder if such a thing was even possible.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: However, later on, I researched this and read various books. Yes, this thing exists, and it is quite terrifying. I discovered that several things are required to perform this. The person casting the ban must be highly skilled.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: To cast a ban, one needs a human skull and a ghee lamp. You also need a sharp "ban" (ritualistic arrow or instrument). You have to "awaken" the skull through specific rituals and chanting. This skull must be bathed in pond water in the morning—never holy Ganges water. You cannot let Tulsi leaves touch it. After bathing it, you must feed it. Their primary food is puffed rice (khoi) or sugar drops (batasha). You might notice that when someone dies, people scatter puffed rice; in the past, they scattered batasha, though now they often use coins.
Disciple: I see.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: People come to me saying they are paralyzed by these bans. There are different types: the "Jwala Ban" (Burning Ban), the "Shukno Ban" (Drying Ban), and the standard Ban. Your body itself has five "bans"—the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. These are the "Pancha-ban." While these are natural, the ritualistic ban is different.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: I had a friend, a Muslim man, who used to cast these bans frequently. He made a lot of money doing it. Their method involves the Eidgah (prayer ground). They perform five rounds of prayer at home, but one specific round must be performed at the Eidgah. If they make even a single mistake during that prayer, it can backfire on the practitioner. This prayer is usually done at midnight. They also use human skulls and send a "chalan" (a spiritual force). The "chalan" acts as a signal that the ban has been placed. Sometimes they even send spirits to announce their presence by breaking a pot or damaging a TV. This is a real phenomenon that I have witnessed.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: In the past, I was quite curious about these things. There was a man we called "Tuloburo." He used to collect items from morgues and bring them to a palm tree. At night, he would call out names, and things would seem to come to life. But these rituals require blood—without blood, the spirits won't work.
Disciple: That's intense.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: I've seen these practitioners at the crematoriums. They use the bamboo sticks used to poke funeral pyres. They cut a piece of it and use it in their rituals while drinking alcohol. They call out names, and the spirits respond from the trees.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: These are very low-level, dark practices. I've noticed that these practitioners have many restrictions. They can't bathe alone in deep water; they can't go out alone. I remember Tuloburo died suddenly while performing one of these rituals at the crematorium.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Many people, including Muslims, come to me to have these bans removed. I have a method to neutralize them. Once I provide the remedy, the effects of the ban automatically vanish.
Disciple: Gurudev, you mentioned the Muslim methods. Do Hindus also practice this?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Yes, nowadays, many do it for money. They use skulls at the crematorium. It is often referred to as "Sulemani Vidya" (Suleman's Knowledge). Some Hindus even take initiation from Muslim practitioners to learn it.
Disciple: What are the symptoms of someone hit by a ban?
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Like I said, they can't get out of bed. "Kala Jadu" (Black Magic) is slightly different—it's done using hair or clothing, and people can usually tell when it's happening. I once met a man from Mayong, Kamakhya, who gave me a specific mantra. When chanted, it breaks any black magic.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: For Muslim-style bans, I sometimes use a pig's tooth as a remedy. Since pigs are taboo in their culture, the "spirit" or force they send cannot function near anything related to a pig. Sometimes we even suggest keeping a bit of pig meat in the yard to prevent such "work" from entering the house.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: I recently saw a man from the Park Circus area. He was an adult but weighed only 35kg because of a ban. He was trembling and couldn't walk. I worked on him, and he is doing better now.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: These bans are often cast at three-way junctions (Tin-mathar mor), crematoriums, open fields, or "Shun-nagaar" (deserted houses where no one lives or cooks). Spirits love those empty spaces, and it's easy to cast a ban there.
Disciple: We discussed this today because these practices seem to be increasing. We see advertisements for "Vashikaran" and other spells everywhere. Some people are genuinely suffering because of those who use this knowledge for harm. Hopefully, the precautions and insights you shared will help people protect themselves. Thank you, Gurudev.
Guru Shyama Khyapa: Blessings to you.

Spiritual Insight

Guru Shyama Khyapa reveals the mechanics of Ban Mara—a dark occult practice using human skulls, ritual arrows, and spiritual forces to paralyze victims. He distinguishes between different types of bans (Burning, Drying) and explains how practitioners from various traditions (both Hindu and Muslim) employ these methods. Most importantly, he offers practical remedies: specific mantras from Mayong for breaking black magic, and the symbolic use of pig's teeth as protective barriers against certain types of spiritual attacks. The teaching emphasizes that these are real phenomena requiring serious spiritual countermeasures, not mere superstition.
